Chapter 204
Blake’s POV:
I thought for a moment, then smiled calmly. “Go ahead, try to contact him.”
I turned and walked toward the door. After a few steps, I stopped and looked back at Anna.
“You can go now,” I said, enjoying the power in those simple words.
I continued walking, my dark suit blending into the night. Suddenly, I felt her rush forward. She grabbed my collar, shaking me with all her strength.
“Blake Wright, what did you do to him?” she demanded, her voice breaking with emotion.
Despite her efforts, I didn’t budge an inch. I grabbed her wrist and stared at her coldly.
“If you keep hesitating, I warned, “don’t say I didn’t warn you. You might never see him again.”
I peeled her fingers from my sleeve one by one, feeling her resistance weaken. While straightening my suit, I looked directly into her amber eyes.
“When you come begging to me again, the terms won’t be as generous as today,”
I maintained a calm exterior, but I knew my blue eyes betrayed something more volatile beneath. When Anna tried to question me further, I abruptly turned
away.
I had to leave. If I stayed any longer, I might force her to come with me. What good would that do? I could take Anna’s body, but not her heart.
Scarlett’s words echoed in my mind: “Don’t be soft with women.”
No, I wanted Anna to come to me on her own. I wanted all of her–and I wanted her willing.
Anna’s POV:
I sat outside Emily’s parents‘ hotel all night, my anxiety growing with each passing hour. Just as Blake had said, Seth wasn’t answering his phone. Every call went straight to voicemail.
When daylight came, I put on a brave face for Emily’s parents, assuring them everything was proceeding as planned.
They thanked me repeatedly for my help, which only intensified my guilt. I kept saying Emily would be released soon, but the truth was crushing me.
Neither Emily nor her parents could wait much longer. I had to do something.
Standing in the hotel lobby, I called Henry. He answered immediately, sounding stressed.
‘Anna, we’ve got a major problem with Seth,” he said.
“What happened?” I asked, my stomach dropping.
“He leaked his brother’s upcoming tech patent to a competitor,” Henry explained. “The competitor already announced a similar technology. Years of research wasted. The Price family is facing massive investor compensation, and millions in R&D down the drain.”
“Where is he now?” I could barely breathe.
“His father has him under house arrest. Police have already visited but haven’t arrested him yet. This won’t stay quiet for long.”
Henry’s voice grew urgent. “Anna, Seth is viplating corporate espionage laws. That’s a felony!”
I understood the gravity completely. Though Henry didn’t say it outright, I knew he was aware of why Seth, had suddenly turned against his family.

Chapter 204
Seth had committed a crime for me.
That realization felt like a boulder crushing my chest. I could barely breathe as I ended the call.
Standing outside the hotel, I noticed a black Bentley parked discreetly at a street corner not far from the lobby. Though I couldn’t see inside clearly, I felt a pair of deep blue eyes watching me.

I stood motionless, a fierce battle raging inside me. Blake’s driver waited in the Bentley, his face just visible through the window.
Could I do what Scarlett had done? Accept being Mrs. Wright in name only? My stubbornness had already damaged my relationship with my mom. I couldn’t afford to be so headstrong anymore.
Emily and Seth’s safety hung in the balance. I couldn’t let them suffer.
The sky darkened, and rain began to fall. The drops hit my face, each one stinging with surprising pain. The title Mrs. Wright felt like both a prison and a shield.
Emily’s mother approached, gripping my arm. “Is something wrong with Emily?” she asked, her voice tight with worry.
I forced a smile. “No, Mrs. Brown, everything’s fine. Emily will be out soon. My husband just arrived.”
“I just miss him so much. He’s finally here.”
Her face brightened instantly. “That’s wonderful! Your husband is the CEO of Wright Group! Wait here, I’ll go upstairs and then my husband and I will get you something from next door. Just a small token of our appreciation.”
