Ann's eyes changed from scrutinizing to panic, and her suspicion seemed to be confirmed.

She went forward and grabbed Elizabeth's hand intimately, looked worried. She lifted her sleeve and muttered, "Elizabeth, are you okay? It's my fault for pulling you to that kind of place. Your brother has a bad temper. You've been wronged..."
