Chloe didn't want to spoil the vibe: "Sure, catching the sunrise sounds great before the shareholders' meeting. It'll save us from running back and forth."
Not long after, Teddy showed up. They had plans to watch the sunrise, and he was the busiest of them all. He hauled over tents, inflatable mattresses, and blankets. They even had beach chairs, cozy wool blankets, and a camping table. They really went all out with the setup. It took four of them three trips to get everything.
An hour later, the rooftop was like a whole new world. Chloe was blown away. She thought it was just about watching the sunrise, but this was something else. There was a one-bedroom inflatable tent, fully equipped with everything they might need, even a heater. Outside, colorful flags and strings of lights gave it a magical touch.
Teddy even set up a grill with all sorts of ingredients ready to go. They had a tea set, with a pot of top-notch Da Hong Pao tea already brewing, filling the air with its rich aroma. Soon, Chloe was snuggled into a soft sofa, sipping tea, munching on seeds and cupcakes, while grilling some air-flown Japanese Wagyu and Argentine shrimp.
Wrapped in a down jacket, Chloe took a sip of her hot tea, feeling the warmth spreading through her. She let out a long, contented sigh: "Capitalists really know how to live it up."
Connor poured her another cup: "Of course, we can't have my lady feeling neglected."
Chloe chuckled. She had agreed to watch the sunrise with Connor, thinking he was probably stressed about tomorrow's election. But now, it seemed he was just soaking in the moment. Chloe smiled, and they sipped tea, chatting away.
"Did you see it coming?" she asked.
"See what coming?"
"That Diana would try to set you up?"
Connor's brow creased slightly as he took a sip, then sighed, reflecting on Diana's actions: "I had a hunch, but I hoped she wouldn't go through with it."
In the end, Diana did make that move. Chloe was impressed by Connor's foresight. He seemed to have everything figured out.
