"You probably don't know about Teddy's background. The Eldridge family is quite the name among the elites. We met back in college."
"Back in the day, he was nothing like he is now. He was a wild child, always racing cars, partying, and flirting with different women."
"But everything changed when he met Amelia. It was love at first sight, and he was determined to marry her and no one else. He completely turned his life around."
"He chased after Amelia for ages before they finally got together. Just when it seemed like they'd finally have their happy ending, Amelia died tragically."
"The reason Teddy is sticking around me is to avenge Amelia and completely take down my older sister."
Chloe really had no idea there was such a story behind Teddy.
Teddy.
She’d seen quite a bit of him over time.
She always thought of him as diligent, thorough, mature, and stable.
It was hard for her to picture his once wild and carefree side.
Connor noticed Chloe deep in thought.
He patted her hand, "Let's not dwell on it. By the way, where did you sneak off to just now?"
Chloe snapped back to reality.
She pulled out a document from her bag, "I got the shares back for you."
Connor couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of the share transfer agreement signed by Diana.
"When did you pull this off?"
Chloe replied, "Actually, I didn’t. Pax did."
Connor was taken aback.
"Pax?"
"Pax saw the whole thing when Diana framed you. Maybe he felt it was unfair, so he sent me this agreement first thing this morning."
Chloe sighed, "Pax is genuinely a good-hearted and kind kid, nothing like his mother."
Connor nodded, "Yeah, he's as pure as they come."
Connor tucked the agreement away, not saying much more.
"You’ve worked hard, Mrs. Claire."
