Winston couldn't resist saying, "Isaac, you're really setting up our big brother here."
Kash, being the straightforward type, wasn’t one to get caught up in their nonsense.
But Isaac knew Connor held grudges, and now they were in deep business ties. So, he figured it was best to shift the focus elsewhere.
Kash had a military background and was the cream of the crop in the special forces. His combat skills were second to none. But Isaac had seen Connor spar with Grant before and knew Connor could hold his own. He was genuinely curious about who’d come out on top between Connor and their big brother.
Isaac chimed in, “How am I setting up big brother? As Chloe’s brother, if she ever gets into trouble, someone’s gotta step up, right? If the three of us can’t handle it, we’ll have to count on big brother.”
“Besides, isn’t this a grand tradition in Eldridge City?”
Truth be told, Eldridge City did have such a custom. When the groom came to fetch the bride, the brothers would always give him a bit of a hard time to keep him on his toes.
Connor chuckled, “I hear big brother’s got a military background. I’ve always wanted to have a friendly face-off with him.”
Teddy was exasperated. Here they were, a bunch of grown men acting like oversized kids. On a wedding day, of all days, and they’re talking about sparring.
Connor was no slouch; he’d snagged an MMA championship overseas. But against Kash, the ex-captain of the elite Falcon Team? The odds weren’t in his favor.
Before Kash could respond, the door swung open. Chloe stood in the doorway, “Isaac, big brother, don’t you dare bully my husband.”
Chloe and Cassie had already sneaked the door open a crack and had been eavesdropping. Chloe was worried her four brothers would give Connor a hard time. Seeing Isaac trying to rope Kash and Connor into a scuffle, she quickly intervened.
