Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover novel Chapter 873

Claire stood there, momentarily stunned. Her mind wandered back to those haunting memories. She had no idea she was pregnant when she returned. Every day felt like she was drowning in the sorrow of losing someone she loved. Her mental state was fragile, swinging between moments of clarity and utter despair. It wasn't until her belly began to swell that she realized something was off. By the time she discovered she was pregnant, the baby was already eight months along. Her belly had been so small from the start that no one in her family noticed a thing.

To Claire, this child seemed like a little demon, hiding even while in her womb. It felt as though he had chosen to enter the world, using her body as a vessel, sucking her dry like some kind of vampire. When Claire found out about her pregnancy, she was on the brink of losing her mind. The horrific, brutal memories haunted her every day. She didn’t want the child, that much was clear. But the doctors told her that her body was too weak, and the baby was almost full-term. Forcing an abortion would be like killing the child in the womb and it would cause irreversible damage to her body. In the end, Jeffery decided to keep the baby and had someone watch Claire around the clock, making sure she couldn't harm it.

During that time, Claire was barely aware of what was happening around her. When the baby was born, she held him in her arms and stared at him for what felt like an eternity. Marian thought maybe her maternal instincts had finally kicked in—after all, it was her child. But then, out of nowhere, Claire tightened her grip around the baby's neck. The nurse quickly grabbed the baby away, leaving everyone in shock. Claire spiraled into another frenzy. With no other options, Marian followed the doctor’s advice, and Claire underwent electroconvulsive therapy. After the treatment, she lost her memories of the past, and the child was introduced to her as her brother. Sadly, it wasn’t long before her memories came flooding back.

“You’re not my son. We have nothing to do with each other. I want to kill you!” Claire's episodes returned with a vengeance. All she could see were bloody, indistinct figures and severed heads. “I’ll avenge you, Colin. I’ll make sure of it!” Claire tore through the room, searching frantically. She eventually grabbed a gun from one of the mercenaries and headed straight for Connor.

Connor, barely able to sit up, leaned against a chair. He watched as Claire approached with the gun, a twisted smile on his face. As if in the depths of despair, he found some twisted satisfaction. He laughed and said, “You never let me down.”

“Mom, I’m giving this life back to you!” Chloe struggled desperately. “No, no!” Despair swallowed her whole, piece by piece. Connor glanced at Chloe. “I’m sorry, I love you,” he mouthed silently. Claire had raised the gun, ready to fire. But before she could, Connor pulled out a knife from seemingly nowhere and drove it into his chest. He had stolen it from a mercenary when he and Chloe were captured, hiding it in his shoe all this time. Now, the knife was deep in his chest. Bright red blood poured from the wound, staining his shirt. Connor coughed up blood and then collapsed heavily onto the floor.

The sight left everyone in shock. Barrett stumbled back a few steps, terrified. As Claire got closer, all she could see was Connor lying in a pool of blood. He lay there, seemingly lifeless, but his eyes were still open, as if death hadn’t given him peace. When Chloe saw this, she screamed.
