Don't Try to Escape, My Wife! novel Chapter 1825

Julian choked.

There was no way to argue back when Joseph got back at him using his own words.

“So you still refuse to operate on my son, Dr. Green?”

“Negative.”

That gave Julian hope. But Joseph whispered, “I just told you my bottom line. You are a smart guy, Mr. Farley, I am sure you know what to do.”

Julian went in complete silence.

Joseph figured what was going on in Julian’s mind at the moment so he didn’t push it. Joseph continued in his lowered voice, “Even if I saved your son, do you really think he would be able to get away the influence of what you and Mr. Frye have done and grow up healthily? Perhaps it wasn’t a bad thing at all for your son to die at a young age. At least he won’t know anything, neither will he have to put up with judgemental gossips behind his back all his life. How could he survive if Mr. Frye and you were behind bars?”

Joseph’s words were a bit harsh. Julian frowned in deep concern.

Joseph wasn’t urging him to make a decision now. He just said lightly, “Mr. Farley, go back and sleep on it. I can wait, but I can’t say for sure that your son can. Now please, see yourself out. I am taking a rest.”

As Joseph was throwing him out, Julian stood up in despair, turned, and walked outside.

It wasn’t that he didn’t know what Joseph was trying to get at, but it was really hard for him to choose between his father and son.

Mr. Frye didn’t have much affection for Julian, however, blood was thicker than water - He never thought about sending his biological father to prison by himself.

But what Joseph had said wasn’t wrong. His son was still young, besides, what Mr. Frye and himself had done might be exposed one day. What would happen to him then?

Julian fell into a dilemma.

Joseph didn’t care about Julian’s struggles. He immediately locked up the door right after Julian went out and signed a hand gesture towards a direction outside the window.

Lucas told the rest of the team to stand by. He hopped on the balcony by himself and went straight into Joseph’s bedroom.

Joseph’s beautiful eyes went all smiley as soon as he saw Lucas.

“I can’t believe you’ve found me here.”

“Isn’t this part of your plan?”

Lucas was a little upset. He glanced at Joseph, sat down directly on a chair beside him, and said funnily, “Fine, Joseph. You are unbelievable! How could you drug me? I won’t trust anything you pass me from now on.”

“Come on, are you still mad?”

Joseph cracked up, without the slightest feeling of being on the enemy’s site.

Lucas somehow found that look on Joseph’s face annoying.

“Stop that! Get serious! All that giggling won’t get me to forgive you. I am telling you - this isn’t over.”

“What are you going to do then? Beat me up? Bring it in. I won’t fight back.”

Joseph was acting like the nice guy, which made Lucas seem a bit childish.

Lucas wasn’t like this in front of others. He couldn’t help but feel upset thinking that Joseph was hiding something from him.

What was the relationship between these two?

They were bothers!

But guess what?

Joseph freaking drugged him!

Even though Joseph only did that to protect him. But it was something Lucas could never tolerate!

Lucas was getting even angrier.

“Why would I beat you up? My hands would hurt from doing so and my dear Yasmeen would get worried.”

“Ahem.”

Lucas suddenly getting all romantic embarrassed Joseph. Joseph awkwardly made a cough and said, “I won’t leave with you.”

“Are you out of your mind?”

Lucas looked at Joseph, quite confused.

Lucas could tell that the situation had changed even though he couldn’t hear the conversation between Joseph and Julian just now.
