“Dr. Ashley, may I have the honor to be your surgical assistant?”
Kylie’s voice was clear and melodious. It was pleasant to hear her speak.
Ashley heard about Kylie. Kylie wasn’t as well-known and popular here, but she had definitely made her name in the medical field abroad in the past few years. In fact, Ashley could see her younger self in Kylie somehow.
“Miss Kylie, it’d be a waste of your talent to be my assistant.”
Ashley put on a gentle smile. She seemed easy-going.
Kylie smiled along and said, “Don’t worry. I’m trying to do what I’m entrusted to do.”
Ashley was surprised. She quickly thought of the relationship between Joseph and Kylie, and then things all added up. Joseph and Kylie were fellow apprentices in medical school.
“I look forward to it.”
“This is the donor kidney sent from Joseph. Let’s start making a surgical plan if Yasmeen is in good condition.”
“Great!”
Ashley had no objection to this. After all, she was going to operate on her beloved daughter.
Kylie and Ashley walked away. Patrick had to wake Yasmeen up. But he decided to wait quietly outside the ward in the hallway instead. He found being the bad guy to go in there and disturb Lucas and Yasmeen would be annoying.
However, Lucas got woken up when Ashley and Patrick walked in. He figured it’d be embarrassing to get caught so he decided to fake sleeping.
Luckily it was his future mother and bother-in-law who walked in instead of anyone else.
It made perfect sense to fake sleeping this way. But Lucas did hold Yasmeen less tightly.
He wasn’t bold enough to get too intimate with Yasmeen whenever his future mother-in-law was around. Anyways, Lucas was always respectful to Ashley in fear.
Yasmeen was still asleep but woozy. But when she felt the arm around her was loosened, she let out moaning and reached out her long leg to wrap around Lucas’s waist.
Lucas was aroused with a hard-on.
He quit faking sleeping and moved Yasmeen’s leg away from him. When he was about to get up, Yasmeen rambled, “Stay in bed a little longer.” Afterward, she wrapped her arm around Lucas’s waist.
Lucas blushed.
Yasmeen’s movement and posture would be a lot easier to handle if it was just the two of them in the room. Unfortunately, they had company.
Lucas had to reach out his fingers to hold Yasmeen’s nose.
Shortly afterward, Yasmeen’s face turned red from being out of breath. She screamed and knocked off Lucas’s hand. She was breathing so hard and asked confusedly, “What’s going on with me? I was getting out of breath.”
Lucas pretended to be calm, glanced at Yasmeen, and said, “You were dreaming.”
“What?”
Yasmeen was even more confused.
She was having a dream?
How come she didn’t know?
It was obvious that someone was holding her nose just now.
Yasmeen looked at Lucas suspiciously.
Lucas said calmly, “Do you think I am lying to you?”
His eyes were deep and dark, and Yasmeen was a little confused at once.
Perhaps she was really having a dream, wasn’t she?
But why did her nose feel sore?
Yasmeen rubbed on her nose and said, “It’s so strange then, why does my nose hurt?”
“You were a troubled sleeper and you bumped into my back. And unfortunately, I got woken up by you.”
Lucas went on with his lies without feeling guilty.
Yasmeen felt a bit mortified hearing all of these.
“Really?”
“Why would I lie?”
Lucas got out of bed during their conversations and started to tidy himself up.

What is it with Chinese authors. The characters are slow, he finally opened his mouth, it took him so long just to say two words...the house keeper would have put the person out before he even spoke....is this really how people are over there..the characters are always lost in thought, they might as well live in their heads.....
