Chapter 233
“Why are you suddenly going to visit her? She’s not in good spirits right now. No one can get close to her. If you go, you’ll scare her. Tilda hurriedly said. She randomly named an adverse effect of him seeing Talia.
A silence followed, and the atmosphere became weird. In a daze, Tilda looked at Edwin and found he was also looking at her.
Hi eyes were dark and cold as if they could see through Tilda and discover her secrets. Tilda got so scared that her heart skipped a beat. Her legs went weak and she almost lost her balance.
Edwin always only asks questions and refuses to pay a visit. His request is so sudden. What does he want to do? Did he know something? Tilda thought to herself and shook her head.
‘He has no reason to suspect me unless he has found Talia. If he found Talia, he would not have such an attitude Tilda thought.
When Tilda was with Edwin, she observed and thought, though she was always messing around. She knew Edwin quite well. The analysis just now put Tilda at ease.
Edwin did not say whether he believed her or not. He just turned around and walked out.
Tilda watched him walk out and gave her chest a comforting stroke. She felt her heart pounding. She was scared out of her wits just now,
Edwin suddenly stopped at the door and said, “If you don’t want to go, I’ll go myself.”
“Huh?” Tilda cried. She had just calmed down. Now her heart raced again.
‘He’s going to give me a heart attack, she complained inwardly. Before she could say anything else, Edwin had already stepped out of the door.
Half an hour later, Edwin came to the entrance of Sam’s small courtyard. The entrance was flanked by two slender pomegranate trees, blooming with fine red flowers.
Tilda kept a calm face, but her fingers fiddled with the edge of her clothes, unable to hide the fear in her heart.
She looked up at the silent Edwin standing at the door. She bit her lip and had no choice but to walk closer. “My father is not home. Why don’t you come over another day?”
“Your sister is sick. Your father actually locked her up and left by himself?” Edwin asked coldly.
Tilda didn’t know what to tell him. She had just made a mistake.
“What I mean is that my father must have go
gone out with my sister. It’s not good to keep my sister in the house all day. My father cares about her. He would take her out for a walk as often as he could, she quickly added.
In any case, the “sister” she talked about did not exist at all. As long as Sam did not come back, Tilda could make up
whatever she wanted.
Tilda secretly called Sam’s number and didn’t talk to him. She only wanted him to hear the conversation with Edwin. Sam was unreliable in many things, but he was smart. He didn’t need Tilda to remind him. He knew he had to hide deeply.
“Oh Edwin replied softly and didn’t look back at her,
Tilda was not in the mood to seduce him now. She just wanted him to leave as soon as possible.
However, Edwin turned around and asked, “You’re calling your father, right? Ask him to bring your sister back quickly.”

Chapter 233
Tilda was shocked. She didn’t expect him to notice this subtle movement. She almost instinctively hung up the phone and looked at him as if he was a monster.
‘Since when did Edwin become so sharp? Tilda wondered.
Edwin remained silent. Naturally, he would not tell her that he had always been sharp.
He used to ignore Tilda’s stealthy movements because he doted on her. Later on, Edwin thought it was unnecessary to do so.
Faced with Edwin’s question, Tilda had no choice but to call Sam again. However, Sam didn’t answer it.
“Something must have happened to my sister. Tilda said dryly.
Edwin nodded in agreement and finally returned to the car. It was parked beside the courtyard.
Seeing him get into the car, Tilda was relieved and followed him in. She did not dare to get into the back seat and chose to sit in the passenger seat.
When she turned around, she saw Edwin with his arms crossed on his chest and his eyes closed.
“Back the car straight out,” she said to the driver. The alley was too narrow for the car to turn around.
The driver didn’t move and looked at Edwin. Obviously, he only listened to Edwin. This man used to be her full–time driver, but now he despised her.
Tilda secretly cursed the driver for being a snob. She could only say, “Edwin, this is a dead end. We can’t go out unless he backs the car.”
“Wait,” Edwin replied lightly. The expressionless Edwin did not even move.
A single word with a calm tone from him was enough to scare Tilda.
“What’s wrong with Edwin today? Why does he have to see this nonexistent woman? she thought.
“What if my dad and sister don’t come back today? My dad will stay for a day or two in places my sister likes.” “Tilda clutched the Birkin bag on her lap to prevent herself from breaking down.
“Will they stay outside for the rest of their lives?” Edwin asked. He suddenly opened his eyes and leaned forward.
He placed his hands on the back of her seat and stuck his head out to face Tilda. This sudden movement caused Tilda’s heart to skip a beat, and she almost jumped up.
She was like a frightened kitten. Edwin observed her every move and remained silent.
The longer his silence lasted, the more Tilda felt she was invisible in front of him. She felt like Edwin had long seen through her and known her secrets.
Tilda believed Edwin would be terrifying once he took her as his enemy.
After a long while, Tilda finally said. “Nah.”
Edwin lay back in his seat and pretended to sleep.
Tilda lowered her head and carefully took out her phone. She wanted to send Sam a message to tell him not to come home. As soon as she typed the first word, her phone was taken away.
*Ms. Gill, I’ll keep your phone with me for the time being, the driver said. Tilda glared at him in anger and said nothing.
Without Edwin’s support, she was nothing. The driver wouldn’t show her respect and threw the phone into the locker beside her as she watched.
