The sun rose early in the wild, casting a faint red hue on the horizon as everyone woke up.

This unexpected incident sobered everyone, instantly dampening their earlier enthusiasm. 

It was a while before the doctor emerged from the vehicle. 

“How is she?” Finlay asked anxiously 

The doctor removed his gloves and reported, “Luckily, it was a non–venomous snake. We administered anti–venom, so there should not be any major complications.” 

Though relieved, Finlay could not help but ask, “But how could there be a snake when she was perfectly fine!” 

Maisie, who was pale and limping, emerged from the car. 

Finlay hurried to support her. 

Her eyes were reddened, and she was clearly shaken. She glanced towards the tent and added, “Exactly! How did a snake get in! Yesterday, sulfur powder was spread everywhere around here. There’s no way a snake could have entered by itself” 

Her implication was clear: someone must have placed the snake there.
