Chapter 297
“Tilda Gill and the rest of your family, listen up.” On the other end, Edwin’s voice was emotionless. “This is the last time I will be talking to you. I won’t take back the money you cheated, but you have to be the consequences of your actions. A lawyer will come to see you soon. Tell him the
details.”
“Edwin!” Tilda’s face turned pale bit by bit as she shouted indignantly.
The beeping tone sounded in her ear signalling that he had hung up on her.
“What’s going on?” Sam asked with a strange expression when he saw that she had not reacted for a long time.
The phone in her hand fell to the ground with a thud as her face turned ashen.
“What’s going on? Hurry up and tell me.” Sam urged as he realized that something was wrong.
At this moment, there was a knock on the door.
Sam glanced at Tilda Gill and quickly ran over to open
the door.
There was a man they didn’t recognize outside the door.
Sam’s pair of rat–like eyes sized up the man from head to toe as he asked, “Who are you? You must have come to the wrong door.
“I am Mr. Stanley’s lawyer. I’m here to look for Sam Gill and Tilda Gill,” the
ther party answered truthfully. “You must be Sam Gill.”
“Law… yer?” As soon as Sam heard that the man was a lawyer, he instinctively took a step
back.
The lawyer walked into the house and happened to see the confused Talia and the pale–faced Tilda.
He tilted his head and stated, “I think Mr. Stanley has already told Ms. Gill why I’m here.”
As he spoke, he nimbly opened his briefcase and took something out.
He explained, “These are the evidence that proves you cheated Mr. Stanley. The facts prove that Ms. Talia Gill has never interacted with Mr. Stanley at all. You deliberately misled him and made him think that Ms. Talia Gill was ‘Big Eyes‘. This is legally considered malicious fraud.”
“Huh?” When Sam heard this, he was so frightened

ground.
Talia’s eyes flashed in panic. Her legs were so weak that she did not even have the strength to take a step forward.
‘Did I get exposed just like that? How did they know? What went wrong?‘ she thought.
Tilda and Sam looked at each other and could not figure out
at the problem was.
The next moment, Tilda snatched the so–called evidence and quickly read it.
It was an investigation. The investigation clearly stated that during Edwin’s hospitalization, Talia had never set foot at the hospital, let alone spoke to Edwin.
“Impossible! This evidence is fake!” Tilda shouted. “My sister wrote a diary. The diary recorded the bits and pieces of their interactions. Edwin also agreed with that diary.”
“That’s right. She’s right.” Sam quickly agreed with Tilda.
“If Talia has never been to Pinevale Hospital or spoken to Mr. Stanley, what’s up with those diaries? You guys can just say it clearly if you despise Talia for being mentally unstable and don’t want her. How heartless of you guys to create such lies to frame her.” Sam had an indignant expression on his face and his rat–like eyes were bulging.
“Talia, tell us, have you met Edwin?” Tilda pushed Talia out.
Talia pouted aggrievedly. Before she could open her mouth to speak, her eyes turned red, and tears welled up in her eyes.
“I’m together with Edwin and I’m his Big Eyes. He clearly likes me so much that we had an agreement. How can he…” As she spoke, her tears rolled down her face.
She looked so pitiful that anyone who saw her would feel bad for her.

Chapter 297
When the lawyer saw this scene, he only pursed his lips and smiled. He took out another document and said, “This certificate was issued by the psychiatric hospital. It proves that Miss Talia Gill is delusional. She saw Mr. Stanley interacting with someone else and fantasized that it was her before recording it in her diary.”

“In addition, our investigation shows that although Miss Talia Gill has never met Mr. Stanley, she has been secretly observing him from the outside. We have also found witnesses to prove this,” he added.
The lawyer’s evidence was flawless and rendered the two speechless.
Tilda immediately lied, “There’s something wrong with her brain. She misled us so we’re also the victims.” Fraud was a serious offense that they could get arrested for so she quickly lied.
She was already in a lot of trouble because of the illegal contract. If she got convicted of fraud as well, she would be screwed!
She knew very well that once she admitted this, there was no way that she could get out of it.
She still wanted to make a comeback and continue to be glamorous. She could not be affected by this!
Sam also nodded. “Yes, that’s right. I didn’t know it was fake either. Her diary was written in such detail that I thought… Thank goodness you guys produced evidence to prove that it was fake. Otherwise, we would still be kept in the dark.”
After saying that, he shook the lawyer’s hand repeatedly. “Sir, help us tell Mr. Stanley that we were also misled… How about this? I’ll personally bring Talia to apologize to him. Please… drop the charges against us.”
“That’s right. If we had known that the diary was fake, we would never have done such a thing.” Tilda also put her hands together in front of her with an apologetic look on her face.
The lawyer saw through their act and coughed before suggesting, “If the two of you want to prove your innocence, why don’t you guys prove it in court? However, I want to remind you that Mr. Stanley hates liars the most. If you confess now, he might be lenient. However, if you stubbornly refuse to confess, he will sue you till the end.”
With that, he turned around and left.
Inside the house, Sam and Tilda looked at each other dumbfoundedly.
“This is really… really…” Sam slapped his forehead and cried out, “It’s over, it’s all over. I was originally planning to use this matter to enjoy wealth and glory, but not only did I fail, I’m also going to jail.”
As he cried, he slapped his thigh. He regretted his actions deeply and was extremely indignant.
He was so close to getting away with it but things had suddenly changed. How could he accept this?
Tilda also froze, unable to move at all.
She thought that even if she had nothing, she would at least have Talia as a backup plan. Even in the worst–case scenario, she would still not have to worry about her daily necessities.
In the blink of an eye, everything was reduced to ashes.
