Chapter 319
Sharon was trying her best to pose under Irene’s direction when she suddenly felt a strong grip on her waist, pulling her into a broad chest. The scent of a man filled her nose.
Before she could react, she heard Edwin’s voice. “Please help us take a photo”
She turned her head and saw Edwin handing his phone to a man carrying a digital camera. The man looked at the three of them and, stunned. nodded immediately. “Sure, sure”
The man looked at the three of them and was stunned. He immediately nodded. “Sure, sure”
“Mommy, carry the little girl. Daddy, hug Mommy and the child together,” the man instructed, clearly a professional
Irene jumped into Sharon’s arms, and Edwin wrapped his arm around both of them. Sharon felt warmth on her back as his body pressed against hers. His long arms easily enveloped them.
“Very good. Daddy’s eyes are perfect. Mommy, smile, the man directed.
Edwin played along, his gaze gentle as he looked at Sharon. His serious face softened with rare tenderness, earning the photographer’s praise. Sharon’s lips twitched, struggling to smile.
“Mom has to smile more.”
Though the mother was already stunning, the photographer wanted to capture more of her beauty.
Irene stretched out her little finger to lift the corner of Sharon’s mouth
The photographer took several photos. Edwin’s phone performed exceptionally well, like a professional camera, impressing the photographer.
Sharon finally breathed a sigh of relief. Just as she was about to push Edwin away, the photographer suggested, “Let’s take a few more. Mommy and Daddy, hug your daughter.”
Sharon was reluctant but she couldn’t so no when Irene was enthusiastic and Edwin showed no sign of stopping. They took photo after photo as directed by the photographer. Sharon’s smile began to freeze.
Sharon expected Edwin to resist the photographer’s commands, but he followed every instruction without a word
Sharon was shocked.
Finally, the photographer’s client arrived. Although he seemed reluctans, he returned the phone and left.
Sharon felt a sense of relief. Edwin slowly removed his hand from her waist and checked the photos. The family of three looked close, especially Sharon, who was held tightly by Edwin.
Edwin’s body began to heat up again.
Irene giggled, wanting Sharon to hold her and look at the photos. She hooked her finger and swiped through the images.
Edwin glanced at the photos and then at Sharon’s face. She looked even more beautiful in person, her vivid features tempting him. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he leaned closer.
His lips almost touched hers.
He restrained himself, wanting her to come to him willingly. Though it might take longer, he was willing to wait, just as she had waited for him.
A sudden sound startled them. They turned to see blue fireworks spreading across the sky, forming flower shapes.
“Fireworks! Fireworks!” Irene shouted, jumping with excitement. She had only seen fireworks on TV.
As more fireworks exploded, Sharon was so startled she instinctively covered her ears. Edwin’s hands were already there, protecting her. Sharon was momentarily stunned, memories flooding back of ten years ago in Pinevale.
On Christmas Eve, she had secretly visited Edwin, finding him alone on the windowsill, looking abandoned. The hospital was eerily quiet, most staff and patients having gone home for the holiday.
When she spoke to him, he didn’t say a word or react at all. Sharon understood how he was feeling. It was Christmas but his family didn’t even show

to watch the fireworks.
Not knowing what to do to make him happy, she had pulled him downstairs to watch
Unlike the city, you couldn’t put up fireworks whenever you wanted. Sharon took him where most people were gathered to watch the fireworks
She was actually very afraid of loud noises. Every Christmas, she would only buy quiet fireworks and sparklers that didn’t make any noise, playing with them cautiously.
But for Edwin, she decided to face her fear.
She thought she could handle it.
When she got there, she realized she had overestimated herself.
When the firecrackers went off, she was so scared that she froze, leaning against Edwin and trembling.
Noticing her fear, Edwin covered her cars.
He teased her, saying she overestimated herself, trying to be brave when she was clearly terrified.
