Chapter 101
Just as he spoke, Chuck swiftly slapped Aurora across the face without a hint of mercy.Linda, standing nearby, watched with
satisfaction.
A trace of blood appeared at the corner of Aurora’s–lips.
She lifted her eyes, filled with hatred, and glared at Chuck.
Being stared at made Chuck uneasy, but he couldn’t stop himself from taunting, “What? You got a problem with that?”
As he spoke, he raised his hand, about to strike Aurora again.
A hand caught his wrist and flung it aside with force.
The next second, a kick sent him flying as a low voice warned, “You got a death wish?”
Hearing that familiar voice, Aurora opened her eyes.
The man stood against the light, and as she looked up and met his worried dark eyes.
In that moment, Aurora felt at ease.
Lucas took in the scene–Aurora’s disheveled clothes, the blood at the corner of her mouth, and the group of men surrounding
her.
With just one glance, he understood what had happened.
His eyes turned red with fury.
Giving Aurora a reassuring look, he immediately kicked away the men around her.
As they collapsed to the ground, the leader finally came to his senses. “Who the hell is this guy? Don’t back down, he’s alone!”
Hearing that, Lucas glanced at him coldly, walked over without a word, and kicked him straight in the groin.
The man who had been mouthing off suddenly went silent.
He rolled away just in time to avoid the deadly blow.
The others, seeing Lucas‘ terrifying presence, didn’t dare make a move.
“Who are you? What are you doing here?” Chuck still hadn’t given up.
“Do you know who this woman is? She’s mine now, and you’re on my turf. Where the hell did you come from?”
Ignoring him completely, Lucas kicked again, hitting the same spot as before.
This time, he wasn’t going to let Chuck off easy.

Chapter 101
The other two thugs, seeing how strong Lucas was, quietly backed away.
Lucas glanced at them, and both of them quickly raised their hands, signaling they knew nothing.
“Hey man, we were just following orders. Don’t take it out on us. I really don’t know anything.”
“Yeah, and this woman’s got a fierce temper. We didn’t even get close to her…”
Before he could finish, Lucas kicked him flying.
With a cold, hard gaze, Lucas had no interest in wasting words. “Save it for your time in prison.”
Just as he spoke, sirens blared outside.
As the sound grew nearer, Lucas bent down and scooped Aurora into his arms, holding her in a princess carry.
His eyes filled with pain and guilt as he looked down at her.
“I’m sorry, Rora. I got here too late.”
Aurora gave him a faint smile and shook her head, telling him she was okay.
Her face was still dirty, and her clothes torn and tattered.
