Chapter 128
At those words, the smile on Tessa’s face completely cracked.Even Aurora herself was caught off guard.
She didn’t have any real connection with the CEO of Vanguard Group–why would he be sending her anything?
“Could there be a mistake?” she asked aloud, unable to stop herself.
After all, she was just a low–level employee.
She barely knew the man.
Tessa’s eyes lit up with hope–maybe the gifts were meant for her? Maybe they had simply mistaken the two of them.
But the bodyguard shook his head with unwavering certainty. “No mistake. The president gave clear instructions–these gifts are
for Miss Aurora Walton,”
Tessa nearly shattered her molars, her eyes burning with jealousy so intense it was practically visible.
Around them, guests turned toward Aurora, their gazes filled with admiration and envy.
Even her coworkers stood stunned, completely thrown off.
The bodyguard looked to Aurora, his tone respectful. “Miss Walton, these are from our president. Please feel free to inspect
them.”
“There are nine gifts in total. The first is a private villa in Royal Front Bay–the highest one on the hill.”
He held up the deed as proof.
“The second is an evening gown. The president hopes it suits your taste.”
As he gestured, the staff unveiled a stunning floor–length gown, its her glimmering with embedded crystals. It radiated elegance and luxury.
“The third gift is a newly released sports car model. The president heard you were fond of cars…”
Behind them, a sleek, high–performance car gleamed under the lights.
At that, Aurora’s surprise only deepened, but it also confirmed one thing.
This wasn’t a mistake,
These weren’t generic luxury items. Every gift had been chosen with her preferences in mind.
With the crowd watching, she couldn’t publicly turn down the gesture and risk disrespecting the man behind it all.
She offered a polite nod. “Thank you, sir. May I know how to address you? Please extend my gratitude to your president. I’ll be
sure to thank him in person another day.”
Chapter 128
She resisted the overwhelming urge to pinch the bridge of her nose.
This was extravagance beyond reason.
He gave her nine gifts just like that.
+40 Bonus
Even without tallying the total worth, just the first three alone were enough to eclipse a lifetime of effort for most people.
And now, they were simply handed to her like it was nothing?
Aurora couldn’t help but wonder if the man behind it all had some hidden agenda.
But realistically speaking, in his eyes, she was just a small–time employee. What could he possibly want from her?
Around them, the Walton staff broke into murmurs, especially those who had worked in the same department as Aurora.
“Wait a minute, no one told me closing a project meant getting showered in gifts by the CEO!”
“Come on, they must’ve known each other before this.”
“No way,” another woman said, bumping Lucy gently with her elbow. “If they knew each other, would Aurora have been working in our department all this time?”
Lucy was still frozen in shock, mouth slightly open..
