Chapter 193
After Joseph finished speaking, Judy fell silent.
She didn’t say another word.
He sure made it sound nice now, but wasn’t he the one who lost his temper in the office just moments ago?
It really was true–out in the world, status was whatever one claimed for themselves.
“Since I have already give you the soup, I’ll head back now,” she said, bidding Joseph goodbye.
He paused for a moment, but didn’t try to stop her or say anything else.
Joseph had taken an interest in Seafront Construction.
After asking around, he quickly learned about Wendy,
“Wendy Shaws?”
His assistant gave him a full rundown of everything he’d managed to dig up over the past few days.
“Yes. Word is, she appears to get along well with Aurora Walton on the surface, but when she first joined the company, the first thing she asked about was any projects that involved the Waltons–she wanted to be in charge of those.
“Plus, a lot of projects she’s now handling were originally poached from Walton Corporation. That company has been a direct rival of the Waltons for quite a while now.”
As Joseph listened closely, his eyes lit up.
Wendy was exactly the kind of person he’d been looking for.
And with the company being such a good fit, he genuinely felt like she was heaven–sent.
“Get in touch with Wendy Shaws. I want everything you can find on her.”
The assistant nodded. “Got it. No problem.”
Once the assistant left the room, Joseph finally dropped his façade.
His gaze turned cold and vicious as he stared into the distance.
Since Aurora had chosen to play dirty, she couldn’t blame him for doing the same.
Back at Walton Corporation, Aurora couldn’t shake the lingering discomfort from that morning’s encounter.
Why was Joseph always hovering like a shadow that wouldn’t leave?

No matter where she went, he always seemed to find her.
Looking back on the last three years, Aurora couldn’t help but feel like the whole thing had been a joke. It was as if she’d been completely blind.
Lucy came over to give her work report, but when she noticed Aurora spacing out, she couldn’t help but chuckle. “Aurora, what’s going on with you?
“You’ve been out of it since early this morning. That’s not like you at all.”
Aurora blinked, finally snapping back to attention.
She gave an awkward smile. “It’s nothing, I’m fine. Go ahead with your report, I’m listening.”
Still a little concerned, Lucy asked, “Is it because of what happened this morning?”
“How did you know about that?” Aurora looked a little surprised.
But a moment later, she figured it out.
After all, it happened right at the company entrance.
They were all in the same department–there was no way people wouldn’t find out.
