Chapter 206
The moment Lucas saw what was happening, his expression darkened instantly.
When he’d gotten Megan’s message earlier, he’d hesitated.
After all, he and Aurora had still been in a silent standoff the past few days.
Their relationship–if it could even be called that–was murky at best, and he still hadn’t figured out how to navigate it.
But now, watching the two of them, completely drunk and twirling in the center of attention, soaking in the stares of every man
in the place, he regretted not getting there sooner.
His jaw clenched as he strode into the middle of the dance floor, grabbed them each by the wrist, and pulled them out of the
circle.
Megan protested immediately.
“Who the hell are you?!” she shouted, stumbling.
“Who dares interrupt my moment of bliss?!”
Hearing that, Aurora’s eyes snapped open a bit clearer.
Someone dared to mess with her best friend?
Did they ask her for permission?
Her eyes sharpened with a flash of clarity as she started to pull away.
“It’s broad daylight–you’d better let go of―”
But the moment she saw the man’s face, her voice faltered..
Megan, still half–delirious, clung to her like a hero protecting her queen.
“Rora, you really do love me,” she slurred. “I’m so touched!”
“Don’t worry, I won’t let him take you! I’ll protect you with my life!”
Aurora’s mind swam with alcohol and Megan’s dramatic declarations, making it harder and harder to tell if the man in front of
her was real or just a figment of her wine–soaked imagination.
Around them, the crowd had started to murmur.
“Who is this guy?”
“Yeah, we were having a great time with those two–why’d he just barge in?”

Chapter 206
“Think he’s a creep? Bad guys these days are really getting bold.”
“Nah, I think he’s with some gang. Just look at him, doesn’t have a regular vibe at all.”
Lucas was speechless.
The more he listened, the darker his expression became.
If Lucas hadn’t understood what the crowd was saying, it might’ve been fine.
But now that he had the urge to commit murder was getting harder and harder to suppress.
“Move.”
His voice cut through the noise like a blade.
Instantly, the crowd fell silent.
Even Megan, who had been flailing and protesting a second ago, froze on the spot.
Her eyes cleared slightly as she blinked in confusion.
“Rora… did I just hear my cousin’s voice?”
Aurora didn’t respond. She didn’t need to.
It wasn’t a dream. Lucas had actually come.
