Chapter 232
Lucas said nothing, only continued stepping closer, one slow stride at a time.
By the time Aurora realized something was off, she was already trapped–caught between her office chair and the man in front of
her.
There was nowhere to retreat.
She was cornered, like prey on the butcher’s board.
Aurora raised a hand and pressed it against his chest. “What do you think you’re doing? This is my office. Don’t try anything
reckless.”
Lucas reached up and wrapped his hand gently around her wrist. His palm easily enveloped her much smaller hand, making her
seem even more delicate in contrast.
“Darling, don’t you already know exactly why I came?” he said in a low voice,
Aurora blinked, thoroughly confused. “Know what?”
He leaned in, his breath brushing against her ear. “It’s because… I really missed Rora.”
“Rora, it’s been so long since we…”
He didn’t finish the sentence, but his hand had already slipped to her waist, steadying her as she nearly lost her balance in the
tight space.
His palm pressed lightly, drawing her closer, until there was barely a breath of space left between them, especially with Aurora in
her fitted business suit, every soft curve of her body pressed flush against the solid wall of his chest.
Feeling her warmth against him, Lucas‘ breath caught.
God, he needed her more than he’d thought.
A light blush rose on Aurora’s cheeks. “Y–You need to let go. What do you think you’re doing? This is the office. Don’t tell me
you’re actually…”
Her voice trailed off, as even she struggled to believe what she was asking.
Could this really be the Lucas she knew?
His eyes gleamed with mischief. “Exactly what you’re thinking.”
Hearing that, Aurora’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Lucas moved as if to scoop Aurora up into his arms.
He had already sized up the place when he walked in–an office like this surely had a private lounge. So why not?

how cold he had been that day. Was he doing all this now just to make up for it?
Before she could figure it out, she was already halfway carried toward the lounge.
“Are you serious?”
Lucas gave a quiet “Yeah,” his gaze darkening.
This time, he wanted to prove himself to her.
The fact that she still thought he might be joking–clearly they hadn’t spent enough time together.
Aurora didn’t pick up on his shift in mood.
