Chapter 260
She’d even forgotten to head to the guest room…
Which led to the scene playing out now.
Lucas glanced at Aurora, noting how her expression shifted like a color palette in motion.
A teasing glint flashed through his
s eyes.
“Looks like you’ve figured it out,” he said in a low voice, laced with amusement.
Aurora avoided his gaze. “No… Let’s not talk about it. I need to get to work.”
Realizing it was her own blunder that led to this awkward situation only made it worse.
She just wanted to get out of there fast.
Lucas watched her flustered reaction, and the mischief in his eyes deepened.
So, she remembered everything after all.
If she didn’t, there’s no way she’d be acting like this.
With that thought in mind, he didn’t press further.
Instead, he let her go, figuring she could use the space to calm down.
There would be other chances–plenty of them.
There was no need to rush.
By the time Aurora stepped out the door, the heat in her cheeks had finally begun to fade.
She drew in a long breath, only then realizing how late it was.
Work was about to start.
She quickly jumped into the car and sped toward Walton Corporation.
But even as she drove, Lucas‘ face kept appearing in her mind–last night replaying like a film on a loop.
She shook her head, trying to push the thoughts away.
She wasn’t the kind of person who liked being controlled, nor did she enjoy having her thoughts hijacked by someone else.
No matter what had happened, Lucas couldn’t be allowed to interfere with her work.
That was what mattered most.

With that realization, clarity returned to her eyes. Her grip on the steering wheel tightened with renewed focus.

When Aurora arrived at the office, her assistant immediately handed her the latest update on the Vanguard Group project.
“Miss Walton, here’s the progress report for the project. You might want to take a look.”
Aurora nodded slightly and took the folder from her.
As she flipped through the documents, she asked casually, “Any news from David Warren’s side lately? Has the material supply
been on schedule?”
At the mention of that, lan chuckled. “You don’t need to worry, Miss Walton. Ever since that last incident, Mr. Warren’s been
going out of his way to be respectful.”
“Oh?” Aurora raised an eyebrow, curious. “What do you mean?”
Ian launched into an enthusiastic explanation.
“After last time, not only has he been delivering materials on time, but he’s also been treating our staff with a lot more courtesy.
“In fact, sometimes he even sends things ahead of schedule–we haven’t had to follow up with him once.”
