Chapter 295
Aurora remained unfazed. “That’s my choice. Even if I’m married, I still have to be my own person.”
Lucas suddenly shifted the topic. “Rora, I don’t understand. What did I do wrong? Why are you always so guarded around me?
Can we just sit down and talk?”
It had been long enough.
Lucas was tired of fighting with her.
No matter what had happened between them, the fact remained–they were still husband and wife.
And then there was Joseph. He’d actually shown up again today, pestering Aurora.
That alone had pushed Lucas to his limit.
But when he said talk, Aurora honestly didn’t know what there was to talk about.
She didn’t know where to start.
“There’s nothing to talk about.”
She liked how things were now–calm, unbothered.
She’d grown used to the peace. To her, there was no need to change anything.
After a moment, she added, “Let’s just keep things the way they are. It works. There’s no need to change it.”
“Is this still about Wendy?” Lucas asked, unable to stop himself.
He had already reached out to Kenneth, but all he said was that Wendy was an adult now, and he couldn’t control her.
And Wendy flat–out refused to move out.
That put Lucas in an awkward position.
He didn’t know what to do.
His friendship with Kenneth went back too far–it wasn’t something he could just throw away.
He didn’t want to make things difficult for him.
But as long as Wendy stayed in the house, he and Aurora would never go back to how they used to be…
Before he could say more, Aurora shook her head. “It’s not because of her. And you don’t have to feel stuck.”
Over time, Aurora had come to learn a bit more about Wendy’s situation.
So, she had already let it go. It no longer bothered her the way it once did.

Chapter 295
Even so, Aurora still wanted her own space.
Back then, she’d only agreed to the marriage because she needed a foothold in Walton Corporation.
Now that her goal was met, growing the company had already drained so much of her energy.
“Lucas, people only have so much energy. Right now, I just want to rest and focus on my work.”
“And what about Joseph Hunt?” Lucas asked coldly.
Aurora froze, then looked up and met his sharp, hawk–like gaze.
“How do you know about that?”
Lucas let out a dry scoff. “He made such a scene outside your office building. You really think I wouldn’t find out?”
Irritation rose in her chest. “You’re keeping tabs on me?”
“Rora, I just want to protect you,” Lucas said as he gently took her hand. His tone softened.
“If you give me the word, I promise that he won’t come near you again.
