Chapter 304
Rachel couldn’t help but complain to herself. Why had she been so spineless?
That had been a public setting. What was Aurora going to do, devour her on the spot?
Tessa noticed the annoyed look on Rachel’s face and instantly thought back to how useless she’d been back in the dining hall.
She was completely worthless.
Every time she was faced with Aurora, she went mute, utterly ineffective, and even ended up making them look like a joke.
If it weren’t for the fact that Tessa still had some use for this little follower, she would’ve ditched her long ago. She was a complete buzzkill.
Still, on regular days, Rachel made for a decent tool.
Like now, she’d be the one carrying the bags they just bought, no need for Tessa to lift a finger.
In short, she was a walking, flattering errand girl,
Rachel grumbled, clearly still fuming, “Tessa, you should’ve just exposed Aurora’s true colors in front of everyone!”
“It’s not the right time yet,” Tessa replied calmly.
After crossing swords with Aurora so many times, she knew exactly what kind of person she was.
Minor jabs like this didn’t leave a dent.
If she really wanted to bring her down, she had to let Aurora crash and burn on her own, right in the public eye, completely and
undeniably.
Not with trivial drama like this.
But Rachel didn’t get it.
To her, Tessa just seemed weak.
Her expression even changed a little–since when had Tessa become so timid?
She used to be the first to charge into any confrontation.
Tessa caught the shift in her gaze and instantly knew what she was thinking.
If she didn’t still need her, she would’ve loved to crack open that head and see what was inside.
How could someone be so dense?
Tessa let out a long breath and explained things in simple terms, spelling out exactly why she hadn’t chosen that moment to expose Aurora.
Rachel immediately understood what she meant.
She looked at Tessa with admiration. “You’re always the smart one. That actually makes a lot of sense.”
Tessa rolled her eyes inwardly.
How could someone be this dense? But on the surface, she kept up the act, looking like she and Rachel were the best of friends.
After smoothing things over, Tessa headed home with quick, confident strides.
She had originally intended to tell her mother everything right away
But the moment Grace saw her walk in, her face lit up with delight. “Tessa, you’re just in time. I was about to go looking for you!”
Tessa looked puzzled “Mom? What did you need me for?”
Because of Grace’s unexpected reaction, Tessa momentarily forgot what she’d come to say.
