Chapter 447
Hearing what Tessa said, Grace felt a strange mix of emotions.
She hadn’t expected her daughter to be so blunt, without the slightest hint of pretense, almost as if she had come here just for this.
Tessa confidently pulled the taut rope, her movements swift and purposeful.
Deep down, she genuinely enjoyed the scenery here too, but the moment didn’t last.
Seeing the change in her mother’s expression, she couldn’t help but speak up.
“Mom, you don’t have to get involved in what’s going on between Aurora and me. It’s between the two of us.
“We’ll figure it out ourselves. Even if you ask me now, I really can’t recall everything clearly at the moment.”
Thinking it over, Grace realized she was right.
After all, her daughters had never really let her down.
Over the years, she’d come to understand their personalities well.
Tessa had a point. She needed to give them room to grow and make their own decisions.
That way, things would be smoother going forward.
Grace gave a small nod and gently patted Julian, who stiffened slightly at the touch.
“I grabbed a bite on the way, so this is all for you,
Mom.”

Left with no other choice, Grace accepted everything.
But Tessa’s expression darkened. She hadn’t expected Julian to follow her all the way home.
She had intended to have a proper conversation with Grace about the wedding, but now, Julian showing up like this made her lose the desire to even bring it up.
She clenched her fists, standing off to the side.
She couldn’t believe how shameless Julian was.
She had already told him she’d talk to her mother–why did he still come chasing after her?
Grace, seemingly unaware of Tessa’s reaction, continued chatting with Julian as if nothing was wrong. “It’s really kind of you to come all this way.”
“It’s nothing, ma’am,” Julian replied warmly.
“My parents reminded me again and again to make sure I delivered these in person.”
His smile was gentle. “When we heard you were sick, everyone at home was worried. That’s why I came over right away.”
Looking at this future son–in–law, Grace couldn’t help but feel touched.
She hadn’t expected to still have such an obedient daughter and a son–in–law who listened, too,
In this lifetime, she was already more fortunate than most.
With that, what more could she possibly ask for?
As for the things Julian had done in the past–so long as he was willing to treat Tessa well in the future, she could accept him as her son–in- law.
She was also willing to let bygones be bygones.
But then again, wouldn’t that be too unfair to Aurora…?
Grace closed her eyes briefly.
There was no helping it. If she truly wanted peace between her daughters, one of them would have to make a sacrifice.
There was no perfect solution in this world–some things simply couldn’t be reconciled without cost.
