When Giselle woke up again, the first thing she saw was Hamilton standing in front of her.
Her face turned pale, and she exclaimed, "Brother-in-law, oh!"
Before she could finish, Alden slapped her across the face.
"Stop calling me that if you want to stay alive."
Giselle's face turned even paler. "Mr. Fowler, Mr. Fowler, even though my cousin has passed away, she was still your lady!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Alden slapped her again.
"Keep your mouth shut, got it?"
Giselle was slapped twice, her face swelling up.
Alden didn't hold back on those slaps.
"Mr. Fowler, did I do something wrong?"
Hamilton, standing a few steps away, looked at her intensely. "Did you mess with Scarlett's car?"
Giselle was stunned. "I didn't, Mr. Fowler, I swear I didn’t."
Suddenly, Hamilton took off the bracelet he was wearing and pocketed it, then stepped closer to her.
Giselle tensed up, feeling an ominous vibe with every step Hamilton took.
She couldn't understand what was happening.
When Eveleen died, Hamilton didn't delve into the cause, but there was a sense of guilt towards both the Schafer family and the Lynd family. That's why Giselle dared to speak up to Natalia today.
But now, in just a couple of days, any sign of guilt in his eyes had disappeared, replaced by hatred!
Giselle wasn't sure if she was reading the situation correctly, but she felt that Hamilton was full of hatred and murderous intent.
She believed he wanted to kill her.
Realizing this, Giselle started pleading loudly.
"Mr. Fowler, I don't know what’s going on. I did argue with Natalia today because I'm grieving over my cousin's death, but I swear I didn't tamper with Scarlett's car. I was busy with loan payments all day. You can check the bank's surveillance; I didn't touch her car, I swear!"
Even so, Hamilton approached and choked her.
Giselle struggled to breathe, her face a mix of shock and certainty that Hamilton intended to kill her.
She instinctively struggled, grabbing Hamilton's hands.
"I didn't know..."
Hamilton only stared at her. "Do you know about Evi's situation?"
Giselle's desperate eyes turned frantic.
She knew about Eveleen's impersonation of Evi, but she didn't expect Hamilton to know. It was supposed to be flawless!
Patrick had investigated everything, even bribed the nanny's family to keep them quiet, and the necklace - swapping Natalia's for a fake and then smashing the fake as part of their plan.
How did Hamilton find out?
Giselle's panic increased, and she forgot to struggle until she was gasping for air.
Hamilton then threw her aside.
Giselle hit her head against the wall and passed out.
Alden frowned at the scene. His brother had been fixated on Evi's situation for days. Could there really be an issue with Eveleen?
