Chapter 106
Dorothy wore a light blue cheongsam, with her long hair pinned up with a hairpin, and also wore light makeup.
She stood by her mother–in–law Soniayn in a proper manner, showing impeccable manners in every gesture and movement.
These rules were set by Madam Lambert for her after she married into the Lambert family.
She spent half a year learning etiquette, and then spent two years studying music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, all because of Madam Lambert’s words, “As a wife of the Lambert family, you cannot disgrace the Lambert family.”
Although Madam Lambert was harsh on her, she also taught her a lot of things.
After greeting the distinguished guests, Soniayn turned to Dorothy and asked,
“Where’s Dwayne? It’s Grandma’s birthday, why hasn’t he arrived yet?”
Dorothy told the truth, “I had already informed him, but he didn’t reply to my message.”
“It’s really useless. Can’t even control her own husband, might as well get a divorce early.”
Soniayn threw these words and turned to Madam Lambert.
Dorothy stood still for a while, put down the champagne glass, turned her head, and saw Dwayne slowly entering the living room surrounded by the wealthy offspring.
He was dressed in a light–colored casual suit, changing from the deep tones of the past, embodying his noble gentleman’s temperament, polite and elegant.
He walked towards Madam Lambert, stood to one side and reached out to help, “Grandma, I’m sorry I’m late.”
Madam Lambert said, “I was actually quite surprised that you could make it, young man.” Her gaze slowly shifted towards Dorothy.
Without waiting for her to speak, Dorothy understood the gesture and walked up to Madam Lambert, “Grandmother.”
Everyone present knew that Dorothy was the daughter–in–law of the Lambert family, but the Lambert family did not publicly announce that the two were married.
Everyone in the circle understood, but no one said anything.
