Chapter 276
After finalizing the surgical plan for tomorrow, Dorothy adjourned the meeting. Everyone else left, and she was the only one left in the conference room tidying up.
Dwayne walked towards her in silence.
Dorothy picked up her laptop and the files on the desk. There were too many things, she couldn’t pick them all up at once, and the folder slipped to the ground.
She instinctively wanted to catch it with her foot, but her foot moved too fast and ended up kicking it away.
The folder landed right at Dwayne’s feet.
The man couldn’t help but chuckle, breaking the silence.
Dorothy gritted her teeth and walked over to pick it up, steeling herself.
“Mr. Mosley had a good reputation. If the surgery is successful tomorrow, it will only benefit you in this industry, not harm
you.”
She hesitated for a moment, then slowly stood up and said, “What does Mr. Lambert’s reminder mean? Does he not want this
surgery
to be successful?”
His gaze was deep, as if some emotion flashed through, “Do you have to talk to me like this?”
How do you want me to talk to you then? Dorothy looked at him, “Like before, pretending to listen to you only, enduring your silent treatment?”
Dorothy, he said, his eyes deep and unreadable, “there were reasons for what happened in the past.”
“I know, you just think I drove Sonia away with your grandmother, right? Fine, I admit it now.”
Dorothy laughed, “It was me, I deliberately drove Sonia away. Are you satisfied?”
Seeing his expressionless face, Dorothy assumed he believed her and was going to take his anger out on her. This was just perfect, maybe he would sign the divorce papers without hesitation.
She waited for half a day, but she didn’t see the man “take out his anger on her.”
Dwayne squinted his eyes, with a whirlpool stirring in the depths like the bottom of the sea, “So, ir causing trouble with me because of Sonia”
Causing trouble?
