Dwayne’s expression darkened, and he reached out his arm to trap her between the car and his chest, “Is this how you wart–o-
divorce?”
She looked up at him and said, “Yes.”
He stared at her, his eyes as if they were going to penetrate her whole being.
Dorothy’s back chilled for a moment, feeling uncomfortable under his gaze. She furrowed her brows and turned her face away, saying, “You think it over and then contact me.”
She brushed off his hand, took a few steps, and then a man’s deep voice came from behind, “Do you want a divorce because of Tyrell?”
Dorothy’s steps were stiff, her expression momentarily dimmed, but quickly returned to normal. “To be or not to be, what does it matter?”
“Even though he took advantage of you, deceived you, you still believed him?”
Dorothy remained silent.
Dwayne leaned against her back, looking at her, “He didn’t really want to help you. You better think carefully. It’s not worth divorcing me for a man like that.”
Dorothy’s hand hanging by her side clenched, then relaxed after a moment.
She turned calmly to Dwayne and said, “Do you really think I divorced for Tyrell?”
He frowned.
“Besides, even if he was using me, that’s still better than you.”
Dorothy, he said with a cold look in his eyes, gripping her arm, “How long are you going to keep causing trouble?”
Dorothy forcefully shook off his hand, “Mr. Lambert, it’s better not to come and pester me.”
She didn’t even look back, and strode into the yard.
And at that moment, Gianna was standing behind the curtains of the second–floor bedroom, witnessing the scene.
After Dorothy entered the house, she went upstairs and met Gianna on the stairs.
She was stunned, “Mom, you haven’t slept yet?”
“Dottie, why did he come so late?”
“I don’t know either,” Dorothy shook her head. Did Dwayne come over specifically to tell her that the incident with Rogelio had nothing to do with him?
