Herself?
Sylvia's heart was ablaze, yet her spine stiffened instinctively. Lifting her gaze, she met his directly, feeling in the dim light as though she was staring into an unfathomable abyss.
Yet he simply propped his cheek in his hand, watching her with evident amusement, a faint smile playing at his lips.
Memories of their less than stellar encounters flashed through Sylvia’s mind, filling her with a sense of humiliation as she turned her face away.
Biting her inner lip hard, the taste of blood filled her mouth, yet it did little to quell the turmoil within her. The biting continued...
Suddenly, a sharp pain in her jaw caused her lips to part slightly, blood trickling down the corner of her mouth.
The man opposite narrowed his eyes, a storm of anger swirling within them.
He was angry.
“So, you’re this reluctant? Then why did you provoke me in the first place?”
Sylvia remained silent, refusing to meet his gaze.
Suddenly, the grip on her chin tightened gradually.
In pain, she looked up, her eyes misty and her lashes wet and trembling. Yet, even so, her gaze was filled with defiance, refusing to submit.
Rupert’s grip loosened slightly, his fingers adorned with the ruby ring, wiping the blood from her lips with a forceful dominance.
“You're as stubborn as a mule,” he said deeply, his tone laced with a hint of resignation.
Sylvia pressed her lips, the restraint she had been exercising slowly crumbling under his gentle touch.
She found herself clutching at her silk blouse tightly, the sweat from her palms leaving damp marks on the fabric, crumpling it into a mess, her skin peeking through the folds.
Rupert’s eyes flickered with a tumult of emotions.
Suddenly, he leaned in close, his breath hot on Sylvia’s face, causing her body to shiver uncontrollably.
He pulled her arms around his neck, and in the next instant, he stood, lifting her up. Her soft cry was captured by his lips.
Rupert, holding Sylvia in one arm and pressing down her head to deepen the kiss with the other, walked a few steps and pinned her onto the bed.
“I don't want this,” Sylvia's voice was soft and muffled, yet fear evident in her tone.
But how could the man before her, tormented by desire, let her go? His Adam's apple bobbed, his hand cradling the back of Sylvia’s neck as their lips and tongues entwined.
“Mmph…”
Sylvia’s feeble attempts to push him away went unheeded.
He let her struggle, not loosening his hold, savoring her like a beast indulging in a delicious feast.
