Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert) novel Chapter 173

She approached the two assistants with a question, “Could you tell me who picked up the suit ordered by Rupert?”

The assistants looked at her as if they’d seen a ghost, gasping in shock.

“Ms. Lloyd, you haven’t left yet?”

“No, just overheard you guys…”

“You heard wrong. We're quite busy. Take care.”

Without waiting for her response, they scampered off. Clearly, she wasn’t going to get anything out of them.

Sylvia sighed softly and left the boutique.

Initially, Sylvia had planned to head back to the Garcia residence and leave the suit with Naomi for safekeeping.

But as soon as she got into her car, the school dean called.

“Sylvia, why haven’t you moved out of the dorm yet? Everyone’s off to their internships, and we need to renovate the dorms for the new students. Please hurry back and move out.”

“Okay, I understand.”

It then dawned on Sylvia that she had forgotten about the dorm-wide message from a couple of days ago, telling her not to forget to move out. She had been so preoccupied with designing for Bailey that it had slipped her mind.

The dean, sounding impatient, said, “Move out by tomorrow, or I’ll have someone move your stuff. I’m just following the notice. You’re the one dragging your feet.”

“Got it.”

Sylvia didn’t want to argue and hung up.

Before she could even put her phone down, Naomi called. As soon as Sylvia answered, she was greeted by Naomi’s laughter.

“Sylvia, did you catch the live stream? Hilarious, the leash…”

“Mom, you're still at the Garcia’s. Tone it down,” Sylvia cautioned.

Naomi tried to suppress her laughter. “Ahem, I just couldn’t help it.”

Understanding her mother’s expressive nature, Sylvia didn’t press further. She had more pressing matters at hand.

“Mom, about my dorm…” she began.

“Sylvia, there’s something I need to tell you,” Naomi interrupted, her voice suddenly serious.

“You go first, then,” Sylvia suggested, sensing something was off.

After hemming and hawing, Naomi finally said, “At dinner today, Tristan mentioned that since you’re working now, you’re an adult. And about the Garcia residence…”
