Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert) novel Chapter 203

At this point in her life, Bridget was a renowned jewelry designer, her name synonymous with luxury and style. She had her own studio and brand that stood as a testament to her success.

She had also just given birth to her first son with Rupert, basking in the prime of her life. It was as if even her hair shimmered with a light of its own, her eyes sparkling with an air of invincibility.

Freya, her sidekick, was riding high on Bridget's coattails, dressed to the nines in couture and flaunting a designer clutch that cost more than a small car.

The girl who had once juggled college and part-time jobs with Sylvia, vowing to climb her way to the top, had long since been swallowed by the shadows.

Twirling her expensive clutch absentmindedly, Freya remarked, "Sylvia and her daughter are practically hermits. Even Tristan can't get through to them. If it weren't for me and Ms. Lance, you wouldn't have had the evidence to pin Sylvia down. And let's not forget, she got you those matching samples. If she ever finds out how you've been using her..."

"Shut it! Are you threatening me?" Bridget's expression darkened, venom lacing her words.

"Ms. Simpson, don't shoot the messenger. The Lance empire collapsed overnight. If Ms. Lance comes after you, I'm your only ally. I'm just securing my due, in case things go south for me too."

"What are you implying? That I ratted out the Lances?" Bridget hissed, "Their downfall was decades in the making. Do you really think I had the power to bring them down? I would've preferred them as allies. Now, with their fall from grace, if she dares to turn Rupert against me... Remember, your fate is tied to mine. So, keep your mouth shut!"

Freya, fingers winding around her clutch's chain, gave Bridget a meaningful look.

Bridget, losing patience, transferred some money to Freya, warning, "Rufus’s condition worsened today. We can’t wait any longer. Get it done."

"I understand. Ms. Lance won’t be a problem for you anymore."

Seeing the transaction complete on her phone, Freya smirked.

Sylvia regretted not having her phone with her at that moment; she would have captured the entire exchange.
