After Work.
As soon as Bridget got home, she sought out a phone repair expert.
The guy plugged Bridget's old phone into his computer, and she watched the screen flicker with anticipation, a sly smile curving her lips.
"Sylvia, you can't hide forever. I've got you now."
Without evidence, what could Sylvia possibly brag about?
"Ms. Simpson, it's open."
"Let me see."
Bridget eagerly grabbed the phone, scrolling through the messages. But all she found were mundane chats with no mention of her.
Undeterred, she tapped into Sylvia's photo album, searching through pictures and videos, but came up empty-handed.
"Impossible! She wouldn't let me touch this old phone. There must be something she's hiding! Can you check for any hidden files?"
"Sure."
The phone expert fiddled with the computer again, and sure enough, he discovered something.
"Ms. Simpson, there's indeed a hidden album."
"Get it out for me!" Bridget said excitedly.
Within five minutes, the album was unlocked.
As she opened it, Bridget was met with photos of a middle-aged man posing provocatively, even including some indecent shots.
Below the photos was a scrawled message: "Get my phone, you get me. If you're a pretty lady, add me on Twitter."
"You scumbag!"
Bridget had never been so furious. She hurled the phone against the wall, shattering it to pieces.
Sylvia had dared to deceive her!
"Keep an eye on her. Someone like her can't stay quiet for long," Sylvia advised.
"Will do," Naomi replied, sounding exhausted.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Sylvia asked with concern.
Naomi couldn't hold back her frustration. "It's the Carmen family! We just signed a contract with them, and they're throwing a huge celebration, inviting practically everyone who opposes the Garcia Group. They even sent invitations to the Garcia family, which got Tristan's headache acting up. I spent the whole night taking care of him."
Naomi let out a yawn.
"Mom, don't worry about it. Celebrating too early in business is never a good sign."
"Is that so?" Naomi hesitated.
"Why? Did you hear something else?"
Sylvia knew Naomi all too well. If she hesitated, it meant she was holding something back.
Naomi lowered her voice. "Sylvia, I heard a lot of people are investing in the Carmen Group's project. Even though we're part of the Garcia family, we can't ignore a good investment. I've saved some money over the years. Maybe I should quietly invest some, and if it pays off, it'll be a nice wedding gift for you."
