After a busy day, Felicity finally returned to the house she rented.
After collapsing on the sofa and relaxing for some time, the sense of busyness all over her body seemed to have slowly filtered out.
Although the rent here was much more expensive than living in a dormitory, life here was particularly comfortable.
It was way better than that dark and hypocritical atmosphere in the dormitory.
After a long rest, Felicity stretched out lazily and opened her laptop to start her work.
She had just taken over the important design project, and there was still a lot to learn.
Riley had also asked her to sort out the design materials and find more inspiration for the designs.
Felicity was full of energy. She had forgotten about the pregnancy and Jason. The only thing on her mind was her work.
Just as she was about to start work, the doorbell rang loudly.
Felicity was surprised. She had just moved here a few days ago. No one knew she live here.
Somewhat puzzled, she went to open the door and saw two people outside.
It was Amanda and her assistant Sylvia.
Felicity, however, did not know them. She frowned and asked, "Umm… you are…?"
Sylvia looked aloof and said with disdain, "This is Miss Sullivan. Are you Felicity James?"
"Yes." Felicity answered, a little confused.
She had never met these two women. How did they know her?
"Good! Miss Sullivan wants to talk to you about something."
Sylvia indicated the intention of their visit.
Felicity looked at their clothes; one looked very expensive and noble, the other looked like an office worker. They both didn’t give off any bad people vibes.
"Come in, then."
Felicity stepped sideways to invite Amanda and Sylvia inside.
Amanda curiously but secretly looked around as she entered Felicity’s humble abode. Her place was very simple and small.
She was confirmed again. Felicity was just an ordinary person without any background at all!
"Hello, I'm Jason’s fiancée. He told me everything that happened with you at the University."
Amanda haven confirmed that Felicity was just a poor girl from a plain background, so she went straight to her point and said as she had planned, omitting all greetings and manners.
What?! Hearing her words, Felicity’s mind went blank as if she was struck by lightning.
"Look! You don’t know Jason. He is a bit of a playboy. He loves to play around with women and have fun. It gets really outrageous! I'll take good care of him in the future. I hope you don't mind... "
Amanda looked at her in a particularly friendly way, as if she was concerned about Felicity.
"If Jason did anything with you, please don’t misunderstand it for love or anything! If you want, I can compensate you however you want. Is that okay with you? "
Amanda said this, Felicity mind began to fall in a trance.
Her whole body and even her thinking became slow and sluggish, as if she couldn’t hear what Amanda was saying.
Actually, she heard her but couldn't accept what she was saying.
Amanda, however, noticed Felicity’s subtle reactions and, continued to attack her with her words dipped in honey of fake concern.
"I hope you don't get entangled with him in the future, or continue to be trapped by him. After all, the Reed family is such a powerful family. They are very strict in deciding who would be Jason's future wife!"
She said, implying that such a small insignificant family like Felicity’s would never even be considered to be worthy of Jason.
"Miss James, do you understand?"
Amanda saw Felicity’s delayed response, so she approached her and asked her in a seemingly kind voice.
For some reason, Felicity felt unbearable sadness in her heart and she couldn’t stop her tears from falling.
She desperately tried to swallow the lump in her throat that was threatening to choke her and nodded her head in embarrassment.
"Thank you for telling me. I don't need any compensation. I understand wha… what should be done."
