Ethan took a sip of the water and set it aside. He didn’t set the glass down properly, causing it to fall on the floor. The glass fell on the carpet, but it didn’t break. The carpet absorbed the water from the glass.

Brent looked at the wet carpet, finding it weird that Ethan would make such a careless mistake.

Ethan stood up immediately, his face filled with urgency.

Brent wondered what Kelvin could have brought back to cause Ethan to be so agitated.

Kelvin came in through the rain. Several raindrops had fallen on the paper bag he was holding in his arms. He quickly handed the paper bag to Ethan with his rain-soaked arms.

He was running when he came in. Water was dripping from his head, and he was still panting.
