Ashley walked over and sat beside Hazel with a shy face. "Hazel, what else did Henry say? Did he talk about me?"
"Do you care so much about that? Call him yourself, then," Hazel urged with a smile.
Ashley lowered her head in embarrassment, wiped her hands with alcohol wipes, and called Henry.
However, the line was busy.
Josie ignored the two actresses and hoped Henry would stop calling her. If he called again, she would switch off her phone.
However, Henry was overly persistent and called her again and again.
It seemed that he had nothing better to do in the hospital.
"Hello, Henry. Are you feeling better?" Ashley knew that Josie was behind her and deliberately raised her voice. "Yeah. I miss you too."
Stunned, Josie glanced at the phone screen and looked at Ashley.
Suddenly, she realized that Ashley had deliberately made things up in the past just to piss her off.
However, she didn't have any evidence and no longer cared about it now.
Ashley continued, "I'm working hard. I'll visit you when my audition is over. Hazel is with me now. She takes good care of me."
Ashley was good at acting, and Josie nearly believed it.
Josie didn't want to switch off her phone, so she swiped to answer Henry's call.
"Jo..."
"What's the matter?" Josie asked.
"I... miss you." Henry seemed to be deliberate with his words. It was obvious that someone had taught him that.
Henry had never said such amorous words in his life.
"I'll hang up if there's nothing." Josie had mixed feelings about that.
"Jo... How long will you be working there?" Henry initiated a conversation with Josie. Cecilia told him that Josie needed companionship, care, and ordinary love.
Josie answered flatly, "One month."
Josie and Henry had no common interests between them.
In fact, this had always been the case.
In the ten years they had known each other, Henry had never thought of chatting with her.
"How about I visit you after I'm discharged from the hospital?" Henry had mixed feelings and was nervous.
It would've been better if he had cherished Josie well in the past.
"Henry, you have to understand one thing. We're already divorced." Josie lowered her voice, not wanting to interrupt Ashley's acting.
After a long silence, Henry said confidently, "We'll eventually reconcile."
Josie sighed and rubbed between her eyebrows. "Fine. Think as you wish."
She did not want to argue with Henry.
After hanging up the phone, Josie no longer had the mood to watch Ashley and Hazel acting anymore. She got up, planning to ask Sebastian to have dinner together.
Ashley assumed that Josie believed her and turned to smile at the latter. "Josie, let's go have dinner together."
Josie didn't bother to talk to Ashley and replied casually, "You've been acting so hard. Just have dinner yourself."
Ashley gritted her teeth and returned to her seat in anger. "Josie doesn't like me."
"As long as Henry likes you, that's enough. Isn't it?" Hazel smiled at Ashley. Of course, she knew that Ashley had deliberately acted to piss Josie off.
"Hazel, what if Josie doesn't get married, and Henry refuses to accept me?" Ashley felt discontented.
"Then you have to find a way to make Josie marry soon," Hazel said meaningfully and handed Ashley a business card. "This is Quinton Taibbi. He has long admired Josie and is willing to marry her."
Ashley's heart skipped a beat. She looked up at Hazel.
"Josie lives alone in the hotel. If there's any scandal..." Hazel reminded Ashley.
Ashley nodded nervously. "Hazel, I know what to do now."
"What a smart girl. My daughter-in-law should be on my side." Hazel brainwashed Ashley.
Ashley took a deep breath. She only wanted to destroy Josie.
She mused, "Why? Why can't Henry forget about her even though they have already divorced? Samuel, too, is willing to protect her."
Her hotel was located in Capston Hill, a very remote area, and the signal on Josie's phone was poor.
Josie tried to make a call several times but failed.
The knock on the door became louder and louder.
"Please be quiet!" The guests in the other rooms heard the noise and opened the door to warn the person on the other side of her door.
Soon, silence ensued outside the door.
Josie stood up in fear and peeked through the peephole.
There was no one outside.
Meanwhile, Ashley called someone in her room and asked, "Is it ready? Quinton's man already went to find Josie. Both Rebecca and Sebastian are not in their rooms. I've already settled things with the hotel to ensure no one will interrupt. Just let Mr. Taibbi go directly." Ashley's fingers trembled violently, and she couldn't return to her senses for a long time after hanging up the phone.
She hated Josie. However, it was the first time she had done such a thing.
Quinton said Josie would behave obediently and marry him as long as she became his woman.
Ashley knew what Quinton intended to do.
Quinton initially wanted to threaten Josie with Henry, but he didn't expect Josie to set him up and nearly send him to the police station.
There was no way he could be kind to Josie anymore.
Quinton wanted to force himself on Josie. By keeping some evidence with him, he believed Josie would not dare to disobey.
Although John had already passed away, the Gibson family still cared about their family's reputation.
This rang true, especially for a holier-than-thou woman like Josie - chastity would be more important than her life.
"It was you who forced me, Josie. Wouldn't it be good for you to get divorced and stay away from Henry? Why didn't you give up Henry to me?" Ashley mused.
Ashley had been orphaned as a child and taken in by an impoverished family.
Everyone laughed at her for being poor and having nothing.
She would never go back to the past. Thus, she must marry Henry no matter what.
