“Uncle is leaving soon!”

I asked, “Aren’t you leaving?” 

“I am,” Frank spoke indifferently, then pinched Danny’s face and looked at me. “I’m going to a meeting now. He’s in your care. If things get too unbearable, just give him a beating.” 

“Don’t worry. I have no inclination towards violence.” 

“By the way…” He looked at me with deep, serious eyes and then said. something unrelated, “The answer that Alana interrupted last night, I want to hear it again when I come to pick up Danny later.”

“Alright, you go play.” Alana patted his bottom and ushered him into an

I opened the refrigerator and asked her, “Water or juice?” 

“Neither.” Alana smiled. “I just want to chat with you for a bit before I head to catch my flight.” 

I nodded and led her to the living room. 

Alana was indeed straightforward and didn’t beat around the bush. ” What are your plans with Frank?” 

If I said I hadn’t thought about this question in the past couple of days, that would be a lie.
