Several people were standing at the emergency room door.

Alana stepped closer to me. “I think they’ve already said everything comforting, so I won’t repeat it. I prayed for a talisman for you both, I hope after this, you won’t have to face any more hardships.” 

I tried to force a smile, but my eyes felt hollow. “Thank you, sister.”

I sighed in relief. “I’m really sorry for the trouble.”
