Expert Down The Mountain Chapter 34

Sadie and Faris chatted in delight inside the reception room next to the general manager’s office.

Faris thought it would be inappropriate to stay long, so he got up in preparation after half an hour.

After sending Faris to the door, Sadie made a call to report the good news. “Dad, the company is fine now! Mr. Cook and I chatted for a bit, and he just left.”

“I’ve already found out about the situation. However, did Mr. Cook tell you why he’s helping you, Sadie?”

Sadie paused for a moment before saying, “I asked him about that. He claimed that he just could not stand Archer’s despicable, shameless behavior anymore.”

Liam said in suspicion, “Is that all?”

“That’s what he said,” answered Sadie in puzzlement.

“Alright then. Quite a few quality control chiefs called me up earlier to apologize. They claimed that they had too many drinks last night and had already passed most of our major projects.”

“That’s awesome!” Sadie’s gaze turned cold. “However, Miles… He has been watching me all this time, and I find that revolting!” The father and daughter chatted for a while. Liam took a glance at the time and said, “Go and get prepared. Trevor Lawson is calling for a board of directors’ meeting. I have no idea what sort of trouble he is getting into.” Trevor Lawson was Miles’ father, the second-biggest shareholder of the company.

Not long after Easton had returned from his lunch break and taken a seat, Sadie’s assistant, Chelsea Hayes, visited The Tetrad’s office.

“Mr. Oxley, Ms. Wolfenden would like to see you for a moment.”

“Sure, Ms. Hayes. I’ll be right there!”

Easton was puzzled as to why Sadie wanted to meet him.

Afterward, Easton arrived at the general manager’s office quickly.

“Mr. Wolfenden! Ms. Wolfenden!”

Easton felt his heart racing because Liam and Sadie appeared to be displeased.

Sadie appeared agitated. “There’s a $440,000 payment we have yet to receive from Capital Building Material Corp. that Trevor Lawson has assigned to The Tetrad specifically.”

Easton was stunned instantly. “It is not easy to deal with someone like Mr. Young…”

Sadie said furiously, “Both the Lawson father and son are b*stards, and all they care about is to put The Tetrad in difficult situations. They’re doing that so your grandfather will give up on

supporting our company.”

Easton cursed, “These two sons of b*ches. I’m going to commission someone to beat them up badly!”

Sadie said in an unpleasant tone, “Don’t get the company in trouble anymore! I wanted to see you so I could notify you in advance and prepare you mentally for that. “I will get in touch with Mr. Young and send you over once everything is in place.”

Easton was relieved, but his expression changed for the slightest bit when he remembered Kayson all of a sudden.

‘Isn’t this a chance to change the people’s perception of The Tetrad?’ Hence, he said, “Don’t be angry, Ms. Wolfenden. Why don’t you let me give it a try?” Sadie darted a look at him. “Let you give it a try? Are you serious?” Easton sniggered. “I shall send Yarde to spearhead the task whether it’s a success or not!”

Sadie considered for a moment and said, “Since you’re so enthusiastic about this, you may pay them a visit but don’t ever bring the relationship to a deadlock.”

Easton had an impulsive temperament, so she was obliged to remind him in advance.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Sadie. There’s $440,000 at stake. I won’t mess around.”

After assuring her, Easton left the general manager’s office and returned to the projects department.
