Chapter 193 Was He Having Trouble with His Legs?
Judging by the figure, it should have been an elderly person, just that they had difficulty moving around.
I thought of the person I had been talking to behind the screen in the private room, and I couldn’t help but frown. Could he be Daniel, Sebastian’s friend? Earlier in the private room, he said he couldn’t get up to greet me because his leg was inconvenient?
However, what did these factors have to do with his meeting with me? He didn’t show up, but still agreed to have dinner with me, to hear my thanks. The key point was, since Sebastian had come, why didn’t he come out to eat together?
“Madam, what’s wrong?” Noticing my gaze, Roy asked.
I shook my head, responding with a simple, “No.”
Roy started the car and left the restaurant.
I watched in the rearview mirror as Sebastian lifted the man into the car. I didn’t know what the man said to Sebastian, but she stood by the car, nodding politely, before getting into the driver’s seat.
Watching the way the two interacted, I couldn’t help but frown. The more I looked at this scene, the more familiar it seemed, as if I was witnessing the interaction pattern between Walter and Roy.
Didn’t Sebastian say they were friends? Why does it look more and more like a superior-subordinate relationship?
Although I was suspicious, the person had helped me after all. I didn’t think too much about it and leaned back in the wheelchair, slightly

closing my eyes to feign sleep. Thinking about Walter’s reaction just now, I felt a slight stir in my heart.
After hesitating for a moment, he still spoke to Roy, “Mr. Austen, what project was your Mr. Hinton discussing with Jacob tonight?”
What I wanted to ask was, would tonight’s incident affect Walter’s work?
Roy gripped the steering wheel, looking at the road ahead, and said seriously, “They didn’t discuss the project. Mr. Hendrix invited Mr. Hinton to dinner, saying it was to reminisce about old times.”
“Reminiscing?” I frowned, the term ‘reminiscing’ carried a deeper meaning when used between officials and businessmen.
Roy grunted, “I heard that the top man in River City is being transferred to the capital for a new position. Recently, quite a few people from River City have been asking to meet with Mr. Hinton, claiming they want to catch up.”
Roy’s words suddenly reminded me, I had indeed forgotten, the Hinton family’s investments over the years, both nationally and internationally, were considered top-notch. The financial situation of the Hinton Group was substantial enough to influence the annual CDP of the entire River City. Walter’s position in River City was of great significance.
The top position at River City had shifted, and naturally, everyone else in other positions had to move as well. Jacob arranged a meeting with Walter, the purpose of which was self-evident.
No wonder Jacob was so wary of Walter just now, unable to do anything to me. It turns out he had ulterior motives.
Taking a slight breath, I stared blankly out the car window, feeling an indescribable sensation about Walter’s recent action. Was he protecting me, or was he protecting his own reputation?

My mother and Alexander were still in Dracview, I felt so empty when I returned home that I had Roy take me to Rachel’s apartment.
As soon as I pushed the door open, I saw the light was on in the living room, but there was no one there. I could only hear a voice coming from the bedroom, sounding like someone was on the phone. I changed my shoes and prepared to go to the bedroom to greet Rachel.
The bedroom door was left open, and Rachel was sitting cross-legged on the small balcony, making a phone call. It was unclear who she was talking to, but her voice was soft as she said to the other end, “I’m fine, just didn’t sleep well last night. It’s been so long, but I guess there’s still some shadow. However, talking to you makes me feel much better. Thank you.”
I walked over and sat down by the bed, wondering if she was in love. Seeing her suddenly turn her head and look at me, her eyes widened in surprise and she exclaimed, “When did you come in? How come I didn’t hear you walking?”
Seeing her so nervous, I laughed, “Just arrived, what’s wrong? You look guilty as if you’ve done something wrong. Who were you calling? Are you in love?”
She shook her head, speaking into the phone, “I have something going on here, thank you for listening to all my nonsense, I won’t bother you anymore.”
