Chapter 250 Only with a Full Stomach Comes Strength

I was stunned, my breath hitched for a few seconds. His sudden praise made my heart race and my words stutter, “What…what nonsense are you talking about!”

He chuckled lightly, handing me a glass of water, “Keep it up in the future, no matter what, don’t ignore your own feelings because of others’ casual comments.”

Me??

“What on earth is this guy talking about?” I frowned at him, irritably saying, “Don’t tell me you’re insinuating that I didn’t give my sister-in- law the respect she deserves?”

“Hiss!” He stood up and flicked my forehead, I glared at him in pain.

He said, “I can’t tell if it’s good or bad, I can give face, but not in this way. Gianna has crossed my line over and over again. If it weren’t for my elder brother’s sake, she wouldn’t even have the qualification to talk to you.”

When did this person become so arrogant in speaking?

Looking at him, I pretended to be speechless, but I didn’t argue either.

He paused before asking, “Will Gianna go to jail?”

Walter’s dark eyes looked at me, slightly narrowed, “Did you want her to go to jail?”

I was taken aback, frowning, “Isn’t it against the law? Shouldn’t there be a punishment? Whatever I want to happen to her, I can’t make it

happen. The decision is not in my hands.”

He curled his lips, “Just going to jail was too lenient for her.”

When Walter said this, a cold frost covered his dark eyes, and his handsome face was surrounded by a fierce aura. I couldn’t help but pull at the blanket, wanting to ask further, but perhaps due to the medicine I had just taken, my eyelids felt heavy.

In a daze, I had slept in the hospital for a while. When I woke up, I saw a cold and noble man sitting by the bed, focusing on the documents in his hand. I didn’t know if it was the information on the documents that displeased him, but his handsome eyebrows furrowed, and then he tossed the documents aside.

Perhaps it was out of habit that he looked in my direction, or maybe he noticed my gaze, so he looked at me

I didn’t expect him to suddenly look at me. It was too late to avert my gaze. Caught off guard, our eyes met. He paused for a moment, then a few seconds later, a smile appeared on his face. “Awake? Hungry? What do you want to eat? I’ll have someone bring it over right away.”

I shook my head, smiled faintly, “Not hungry.”

With each question and answer, the conversation seemed to have come to a halt.

The air fell silent for a few seconds, he seemed to have just thought of calling a doctor for me, and got up to call the doctor,

I quickly grabbed him, saying, “I’m fine now, really.” My face had been pale when I first came down the mountain due to excessive fright, but after a nap, I felt much better and my mind gradually became much clearer.

I grabbed him, and he stopped, looking at me. After hesitating for a

few seconds, he reluctantly said, “Let the doctor come and take a closer look.”

Walter’s stubbornness was unstoppable. He had a doctor come to examine me thoroughly. After the examination, the doctor once again confirmed that there was nothing seriously wrong with me and that all I needed was a good rest.

Seeing the doctor leave and realizing it was getting late outside, I turned to Walter and said, “Grandma is still sick, you should take care of her. I’ve had some rest and I’m feeling much better now, I can be discharged from the hospital. You don’t need to worry about me here.”

He fell silent for a moment, then looked at me and said, “Let’s go back to the old house together.”

Hearing this, I nodded and agreed.

When he left the hospital, it was already dark outside. Roy was waiting outside in his car.

Got in the car, headed straight for the old house.

The old mansion.
