Chapter 254 Made it to the Hot Search.

I shook my head, helping the old lady into the house. The old lady cared about me, looking at me and saying, “Are you okay? What did the doctor say? If it wasn’t for Jacob coming, I wouldn’t even know that something so big happened to you. You, child, don’t even know to say

a word.”

I smiled lightly, “It’s nothing serious, it’s all in the past. I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to worry.”

She sighed, glanced outside and said, “This Jacob, really. His daughter made the mistake, yet he has the nerve to come and beg. He’s not even embarrassed.”

Looking at the old lady’s complexion, it seemed quite good, indicating that her health had somewhat improved. I changed the subject and asked, “Grandma, where are my elder brother and sister-in-law? How come they haven’t come over?”

Hearing my question, the old lady said, “I haven’t seen the two of them since dinner, they probably went out. Never mind them, we hardly see them a few times a year, it’s good to let them gather and have a good chat. Besides, your sister-in-law is pregnant, she needs to rest more.”

Well, it was.

The noise outside had ceased, and not long after, Walter came in.

Seeing him come in, the old lady spoke, “Has the person been sent away?”

Walter nodded.

The old lady pursed her lips and said, “It’s too lenient to just let her go to jail, and yet she comes here to beg. I was terrified when I heard what Odin told me. If you had been a step late, the consequences would have been unimaginable. Just letting her serve a few years in prison is already considered light.”

Walter supported her, his usual coldness gone, appearing exceptionally gentle as he said, “Yes, grandma is right, we should not let these kind of people into the Hinton family in the future.”

The old lady nodded, spoke a few words with the old lady in the inner courtyard, and then saw Dale come in. He glanced at me and Walter, seemingly hesitant to speak.

Noticing his expression, Walter didn’t ask. Instead, he said to the old lady, “Grandma, it’s getting late. You should rest early. We will also go back.”

The old lady nodded, looking at me and said, “Go on, Tabatha must have been scared today, go home and have a good sleep.”

I nodded, smiling as I bid farewell to the old lady.

Upon leaving the courtyard, we saw Odin pacing back and forth outside, clearly looking for Walter. Seeing us come out, he hurriedly approached, anxiously saying, “Mr. Walter, something has happened.”

Walter frowned, seeing his panic, and asked, “What’s the matter, why so flustered?”

Before Odin could even speak, another person hurriedly ran in from outside. It was Roy.

Sweat was beading on his forehead, his face turning pale. It was clear that he was anxious.

Seeing this situation, I realized it might not be a minor issue. Walter

also realized it, and looking at the two of us, he said, “Follow me.”

He quickly led Odin and Roy out of the old lady’s yard and into the side yard. Only then did he stop and look at the two of them, saying, “Speak up, what’s the matter?”

After a tacit glance between Odin and Roy, Roy spoke first, looking at me and Walter, “Sir, Madam, half an hour ago, the news of Madam’s murder and hiding the body made the hot search.”

I was stunned, how did this end up on the news? Didn’t we give a heads up to the police station?

Guessing what I was thinking, Roy said, “It wasn’t leaked from the police station.”
