Chapter 327 Let’s Freeze to Death Together

I pursed my lips, didn’t speak, and said in a cold, hard voice, “If you absolutely need an answer now, then let’s freeze to death here… Ah!”

Before I had a chance to react, he suddenly swept me off my feet, his arm around my waist. The car was not far away. He placed me in the car without uttering a single word. Roy started the car and headed straight for Water Villa.

Silent all the way.

Water Villa.

It had been a long time since I last came, but every blade of grass and every tree here still looked the same as before.

Walter and I were both drenched. Although it was cold in the rain just now, we hadn’t experienced the warmth of the car. When we stopped and got out of the car, the cold air outside made me shiver all over.

It was really cold.

Walter, tall and slender, stood in front of me, blocking most of the cold wind. He looked at me and said, “There are clean clothes at home. Go upstairs and take a bath. I’ll have Roy make you some ginger soup. Have a good sleep after drinking it.”

I pursed my lips, my emotions a whirlwind. I didn’t want to say much to him, only managed to utter, “Roy, you’re really unlucky to have met you.”

He wasn’t angry, instead, he just chuckled lightly and then said, “Well, I gave him a raise.”

….

I didn’t talk much with him, I went up to the master bedroom on the second floor. I had lived here for two years, everything was just as it had been before, almost nothing had changed, so naturally, I was familiar with many things.

It was indeed cold. I found some clothes and entered the bathroom. After being washed by the warm water, the chill on my body gradually faded away, and I finally felt like I was truly alive.

Indeed, the mortal body could not withstand the abuse.

After tidying up, I saw that the clock on the wall had already pointed to three in the morning.

At this point in time, thinking that Walter still had Roy making ginger soup, I couldn’t help but feel guilty. I went downstairs intending to tell Roy to go back and rest.

Downstairs, Roy was nowhere to be seen, but Walter was spotted in the kitchen, messing around in a thick bathrobe.

Perhaps hearing some noise, he turned his head to look at me. The man, no longer in a state of disarray, had regained his usual dignified elegance. He looked at me and said, “I made some ginger soup, have some before you sleep.”

I pursed my lips, “Has Mr. Austen gone back?”

“Hmm!” He opened his mouth, the ginger soup had already been served.

The thing brought to my mouth, although I felt uncomfortable inside, was ultimately beneficial to me. There was no reason to refuse it. I reached out to take it and drank it down in one gulp.

It’s just… I was ultimately too young after all.

The ginger soup was scalding hot. As the soup reached my mouth, I felt my mouth being numbed by the heat. All I heard was a voice beside my ear saying, “Careful, it’s hot.”

Before I had time to react, I spat out all the soup I had just sipped. Walter was right in front of me, completely unprepared, and I didn’t have time to consider.

This mouthful, all sprayed onto his body, even some on his face.

“I’m sorry!” I began, pulling tissues as I started to apologize.

Unsure whether to wipe his face or his newly changed nightgown, he was momentarily flustered.

My wrist was gripped by the man. I looked up, our eyes meeting. He was handsome, his features always impeccable no matter the time. I wasn’t sure if it was due to recent fatigue that he seemed a bit thinner, but it only served to make him look even more attractive than before.

Instinctively retracting his hand, he held it tightly, looking at me, his dark eyes slightly squinted, “It’s okay.”

I couldn’t bear his gaze, it was so deep that it seemed like one could accidentally fall into it. My heartbeat involuntarily became a bit chaotic. Avoiding his gaze, I pursed my lips and said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, you should go wash it off again!”

I withdrew my hand, hastily downed the bowl of ginger soup that had cooled slightly, and then hurried back to my bedroom.

At this point, it was impractical to go back to the Conner’s place. After all, this Water Villa had plenty of rooms. I didn’t want to be pretentious, so it wouldn’t be a problem to stay here for one night.
