Chapter 395 They All Would Disappear

After speaking, he lowered his head and leaned towards me, falling on my face. Realizing what he was about to do, I turned my head away, glaring at him with increasing disgust.
Seeing this, he squinted his eyes, released me, stopped talking, and left the dark room without saying a word.
Ezra was right, I couldn’t escape from this dark room. The only exit from the dark room led to Sweetie and Kitty’s room. But he had arranged for someone to guard it almost constantly, I couldn’t escape.
I had originally thought that I would be locked up here forever by him, or tortured to death; or abused to death. But not long after, he came.
There was no sense of time in the dark room, I couldn’t tell whether it was day or night outside. When he came, I was so tired that I was leaning in the corner, somewhat dazed.
He crouched beside me, toying with me as if I were a pet, and said, “Tabatha, do you want to know what’s happening outside?”
I opened my eyes, coldly looking at him without uttering a word. By then, my lips were so dry that it was difficult to speak.
He hooked his lips, his fair face seemingly carrying a touch of reckless madness. His voice was low as he said, “They will all be gone soon. Once they disappear, I will take you away. How does that sound?”

I widened my eyes, looking at him in terror, and quickly said, “Ezra, what are you going to do?”
Seeing me finally showing some emotional fluctuations, he hooked my chin, looked down at me from above, and condescendingly said, “So nervous? Afraid of who’s going to die? Hmm?”
I knew nothing about the outside world, and because of this, my fear only grew. I clung to his sleeve, looking at him, my fear of him had long since become irrelevant. “Tell me, what happened outside? What do you want to do?”
He stared at me, studying my face, scrutinizing every expression on it – terror, worry, even fear. He pursed his lips, laughed, but it was exceptionally cold, “Tabatha, are you begging me?”
I pursed my lips, still looking at him, not denying, yes, I was begging him.
Seeing me like this, he seemed to lose interest in toying with me. He pushed me away, stood up, and lazily walked over to a chair on the side to sit down. His movements were indifferent. “Walter was indeed looking for you. He guessed that it was me who took you away. So, I asked him to prepare all the wealth of the Hinton family for me, to exchange for you. Do you think he agreed?”
I didn’t speak, just looked at him. My hands had been tied for a long time, and I was starting to feel a faint pain. I wasn’t sure if it was because of poor blood circulation.
Seeing my silence, he continued somewhat boredly, “I really underestimated him. He agreed, the huge Hinton Group, exchanged for your life, he was willing, but…” As he said this, he looked at me, his black eyes full of ruthlessness.
“I escaped death and came to River City, not for a pile of filthy lucre.”

He looked down at me, his voice harsh yet restrained, “Both he and you should taste the torment of being worse than death, to justify the pain of my flesh being cut and bones being scraped!”
The temperature in the dark room dropped to freezing point. I knew he hated, but didn’t I hate too? Glaring at him, my voice hoarse, I said, “Ezra, what right do you have to take revenge on us? From beginning to end, you were the one who was wrong. You’ve killed so many people, you should have been dead long ago.”
He let out a cold, hollow laugh, but there was no trace of amusement on his face, instead, it became even more chilling. “Hmm, I deserve to die, so, even if I die, I will take you with me, drag you down to hell with me. How nice.”
“Madman!” I spat at him, feeling that the man before me was beyond. redemption.
He didn’t seem to care, leaning sideways in his chair, his long legs stretched out lazily, sizing me up. I didn’t know what he meant by looking at me like that.
But at that time, I didn’t want to see him at all. I couldn’t get out, didn’t know the situation outside, couldn’t save or help anyone. The only thing I could do was to pray that, no matter what, Walter wouldn’t risk his life for me.
