Chapter 438 I Saved You Again

Ezra stared at me, squinted, suddenly laughed, and disdainfully said, “It seems that you won’t give up unless I leave with you today.”

Stanley remained silent.

Upon seeing this, Ezra started walking towards us. Suddenly, Sebastian grabbed him, frowning, “Sir.”

Ezra didn’t seem to mind, looking at him and saying, “Don’t worry.”

Afterwards, he walked towards us and arrived in front of Walter. These two men were of similar height and even their body shapes were almost identical. However, their styles were completely different. Walter was cool and handsome, while Ezra was charming and indifferent.

“Mr. Hinton, long time no see,” Ezra spoke, his gaze, however, was on

Walter slightly lifted his gaze, his tall figure subtly blocking his view of me. His voice was low and restrained, “Ezra, long time no see.”

He didn’t call him Daniel, but Ezra.

Ezra squinted, didn’t say a word, but looked at me and reached out his hand towards me.

I furrowed my brows, but upon receiving his warning through his dark pupils, my heart sank a little. What was this man trying to do?

My hand was held by him, and Walter, who was standing by, had a slight change in his complexion Almost instantly, he pulled me away

Ezra probably didn’t expect such a big reaction from Walter, his face darkened for a moment, preparing to reach out to me again.

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out. In an instant, we all turned towards the sound. Before I could react, I was abruptly pulled and then crashed into a broad chest.

“Hiss!” The man drew in a cold breath. I was startled, and it took me a few seconds to realize that the person protecting me was Ezra.

Before there was time to think, the woman’s sharp, arrogant voice rang out, “Daniel, even now, you’re still protecting this wretch.”.

It was Geraldine, gun in hand, as arrogant and indulgent as ever. Beside her stood an older man, somewhat overweight, with a particularly fierce and cruel countenance. He squinted at us, and upon seeing Ezra injured in his attempt to protect me, he stopped Geraldine who was about to continue shooting

Geraldine pursed her lips, casting a dissatisfied sidelong glance at him, her voice carrying a hint of arrogance, “Dad, why are you stopping me? Let me kill this bastard.”

Dad?

Was he Warren?

Warren gave him a reassuring look, turned towards us, glanced at the injured Ezra, looked at Walter and his group, and said, “Haven’t seen this many outsiders in my mountain for quite a few years, it’s quite lively today.”

Walter and Stanley, probably guessing his identity, had their faces become even more serious.

Ignoring them, I instinctively supported Ezra, checking his wounds. Seeing that he was only shot in the arm, I couldn’t help but breathe a

sigh of relief. Still, I couldn’t resist asking him, “Are you okay?”

Aside from an initial wince, Ezra had no other reaction, his face showing only a hint of endurance. Seeing my inquiry, his expression oddly improved a bit, and he looked at me, saying, “Tabatha, I’ve saved you once again.”

I pursed my lips, not denying that ever since he reappeared in River City, whether intentionally or unintentionally, he had saved me many times. That was a fact I couldn’t deny. But the fact that I resented him was also true.

Without responding to his words, I pulled down the silk ribbon I had used to tie my hair in the morning, and used it to temporarily bandage him. I didn’t know how to deal with gunshot wounds, all I could think of was to stop the bleeding first.

Seeing me like this, he pursed his lips and smiled faintly, not saying a word.
