Chapter 26
Briana nodded confidently. “Shouldn’t I be suspicious of you? I mean, I’ve upset the person you love. It’s natural to assume you might take revenge on her behalf.”
Fury flashed across Maxim’s eyes. “Do you think I am this kind of person?”
Briana didn’t speak. Indignation and a sense of powerlessness surged in Maxim’s heart.
She had never trusted him!
Just as they were in a stalemate, a servant of the Schneider family came over. “Ms. Schneider, Mrs. Lacey Schneider wants you to explain everything to her.”
Briana had an indifferent look on her face. “Why bother? You’ve all seen the truth.”
The servant had a straight face and said with dissatisfaction, “Ms. Schneider, Mrs. Lacey Schneider has taken several pills to prevent a heart attack from happening because of this matter. She’ll be angrier if you don’t explain it to her.”
Before Briana could say anything, someone grabbed her wrist.
When she came to her senses, she had been pulled forward by Maxim.
Briana looked at Maxim with a frown, saying coldly, “Maxim, what are you doing? Let go!”
Kiley hurried over to stop Maxim with worry in her eyes. “Maxim,
what do you want to do? Although Briana was in the wrong, things will get uglier if she explains to Grandma. We should let her leave now.”
Briana coldly looked at Kiley. She believed that what happened today must have something to do with her.
Kiley asked Briana to leave just to facilitate herself slandering Briana later.
“Kiley, you don’t have to pretend to be the nice guy. I won’t let you off if I discover any connection between you and what happened today!”
Kiley’s eyes flashed, and she looked at Briana with grievance. “Briana, I’ve always done things for your good. How could you think of me as a bad person? I wasn’t the one asking you to get a barman for entertainment in the bar. Even if you were pissed off by the exposure of this matter, you couldn’t vent your anger on me!”
