Chapter 393
Before Zane could speak, a cold voice echoed from within the villa.
“Briana, who were you talking to?”
Briana was about to turn around to respond when Zane raised his voice and said, “Mr. Yoder, it’s me. I just got back and heard about what happened with Kiley and Briana, so I came to see Briana.”
No sooner had the words fallen than he saw Briana looking at him with a smirk, her eyes full of mockery.
Zane felt his face turning somewhat red, feeling as if Briana had somehow seen through his thoughts.
The next second, Briana directly opened the villa’s door, stepping aside with a nonchalant expression, “It seems Mr. Schneider has something to say to Mr. Yoder, you can speak now.”
Zane: “……”
Briana was simply impervious to advice!
However, in front of Maxim, he didn’t dare to speak harshly to her. He could only smile awkwardly, “Briana, what are you talking about? I came to see you.”
Briana looked up at him coldly, “Well, you’ve had a good look now, you can leave.”
As her words fell, the air seemed to solidify as well.
Zane glanced at the cold–faced Maxim who was looking at him, then at
the indifferent Briana beside him. In the end, he swallowed his pride and said, “Mr. Yoder, I do have some business with you as well.”
Maxim’s expression was icy as he was about to send him away. Suddenly, he thought of something and said, “Let’s talk in the study.”
Briana looked back at Maxim in confusion. Hadn’t he decided not to continue working with the Schneider Group? Why had his attitude suddenly changed?
However, Maxim didn’t look at her and turned to walk into the study.
The two didn’t know what they had discussed in the study. When they came out, Zane had a smile on his face, looking as if he had gained some benefits.
He walked up to Briana, smiling and said, “Briana, your cousin has been admitted to the graduate program at Vert University. She’s coming back next week during her break. Your grandparents are planning to throw a party to celebrate this. You should come with Mr. Yoder.”
Briana pursed her lips, in her memory, Ruby was the pride of her uncle’s family, the Schneiders. She had always excelled in her studies and was very good at speaking and gaining the affection of the elders, so everyone in the Schneider family doted on her.
When she first returned to the Schneider family, she thought that all she needed to do was to imitate Ruby to win everyone’s affection. Only later did she realize how absurdly wrong she was.
In the eyes of the Schneider family, she was just a disaster who could ruin their family. No matter what she did, they would never accept her.
Just like Zane was now welcoming himself with a smile, it was also because he wanted to please Maxim,
“Let’s talk about it later. The company has a lot of things going on, I might not have time then.”
