Chapter 462 

Briana unconsciously gripped the front of Maxim’s shirt, the distance between them gradually closing.

Just as their lips were about to touch, the cell phone suddenly rang.

Briana was startled and quickly jumped off Maxim, her face flushed red as she said, “Your phone is ringing, I… I’ll go up first.”

After speaking, she turned around and hurriedly left, as if something was chasing her from behind.

Maxim unconsciously furrowed his brow. Ever since he got back together with Briana, there hadn’t been those intimate gestures between them like before.

He originally thought he could strengthen the relationship between the two of them tonight, but it was unexpectedly ruined by a phone call, so his mood was very bad at the moment!

She quickly shook her head, shaking off those enchanting images in her mind, grabbed her nightgown and went to the bathroom to take a bath.

Half an hour had pa**ed since she finished her shower. It was only when she finished blow–drying her hair and was preparing to sleep that she saw the message from Maxim. She immediately dialed his number.

It took a while for the call to connect on the other end, Maxim’s voice seemed even more somber than usual, “Briana, what’s wrong?”

“Where were you then?”

After a few seconds of silence, Maxim finally murmured, “The Yoder’s house.”

“Did something happen?”

Under normal circumstances, Reese and Kendra wouldn’t have called Maxim back at this time.

Another bout of silence ensued, until just as Briana’s patience was about to run out, Maxim finally spoke: “Um, my mom has gone missing.”

After hanging up the phone, Briana quickly changed her clothes and drove to the Yoder’s house.

In the living room, Reese and Maxim sat facing each other, both of their faces looking very unpleasant.

Briana walked over and sat down next to Maxim, “What happened? How could you suddenly disappear when everything was fine?”
