161 Wayne’s Ex-
After walking out of the bathroom, the first thing Wayne did was look for Anna. However, he didn‘t see her. He asked the receptionist where she went, but they had just changed shifts and didn’t know what had just happened.
“She probably went back home. You know, it‘s late.” Charlotte said and took Wayne‘s hand.
Then she leaned against Wayne, blinking her reddened eyes and saying in a muffled voice, “Wayne, I‘m a little tired. Would you take me home?”
They stood at the front desk, making the receptionists look stunned.
The receptionists stared dumbfounded at them and wondered what was going on. They all knew that Wayne was in a relationship with Anna. So, they didn‘t know why Charlotte was so close to Wayne.
Wayne absentmindedly glanced at the hotel door and then had an ominous feeling.
He knew that Anna wouldn‘t leave the banquet without telling him, even if she had something urgent to take care of. After all, Anna had never done such a thing before.
Charlotte seemed so drunk that she closed her eyes and didn‘t move when she leaned on his shoulder. He frowned and told the driver to take her home first.
They arrived at a three–story villa on the west side of town. In the living room on the first floor, Charlotte took one of Wayne‘s hands affectionately. She tilted her head, saying inarticulately, “Wayne, you can think about what I said. Oh, you don‘t have to answer me in a hurry because I can wait for you.”
Wayne was about to walk away. When he heard her words, he paused. He looked down at Charlotte, who was lying on the couch and then shook her hand away
He said, “No, Charlotte. You‘re drunk.” “No! I‘m not drunk.”
Charlotte still didn’t want to stop. She threw her arms around Wayne’s waist and seemed to be crying. She said, “Wayne, I‘m scared. Don‘t go. Stay with me, okay?”
Wayne didn‘t shake her off again, but his gaze was indifferent. He said, “I called your brother, and he’ll come over later.”
Charlotte froze, and then slowly withdrew her arms around his waist. She sat on the couch with her head hanging.
Her curly bangs blocked her face. Even so, Wayne could tell she was very disappointed. Then, he frowned.
After a long time, she suddenly raised her head and complained, “Wayne, how could you do this to me! I was just joking with you. If you don‘t want to stay here, you can leave. Why did you tell my brother? Is it true that he will come later? If he knows that I’m drunk, he‘ll blame me.”
Hearing that, Wayne stopped frowning. He went back to Anna‘s apartment immediately after he left Charlotte‘s house. But he found

that she wasn’t home and didn’t seem to have come back.
He then called Anna, but she didn’t answer. He called Henry, and Henry said she hadn’t been
there.
“Mr. Wright, where are we going now?” Gabe asked. He had just pulled the car out of the block where Anna’s house was.
“To Peace‘s,” Wayne said.
Gabe looked up in the rear view mirror and noticed that Wayne frowning and looking upset
Wayne hadn’t expected Charlotte to return to England at all. This incident had disrupted his plans entirely.
“What? She‘s really not here?” Wayne stood in the living room and looked around Peace‘s messy apartment. Finally, he looked skeptically at the bedroom.
“Of course she’s not here! It‘s early in the morning, Wayne. Will you let me have a good sleep? You don‘t need to work, but I do. I have to get up early in the morning. Oh, hey, what are you doing?” Peace immediately jumped up from the couch. She didn’t walk over to Wayne until she saw Wayne strutting over to the bedroom door.
Wayne opened the door as he saw a dim light in the bedroom. Just as he walked into the bedroom, the man in the bed immediately jumped up in shock.
Wayne looked stunned at Karl‘s frightened look and said, “Oh, Karl, hi. Did Anna come
