Skylar got into the car with Tobias and sat in the passenger seat, fuming silently.
Tobias fastened her seatbelt and grabbed her left hand. Although Skylar was wearing the ring today, she was wearing it on her middle finger, as if implying that she was single.
Tobias took off the ring from Skylar's middle finger and demanded, “If I recall correctly, you can block people through your phone, right? Does your phone not have that function? You're usually an expert at playing with your phone...”
Skylar replied, “Yeah. Are you asking me to block Marcus? Since he used to be a producer, we've had work-related exchanges before. It won't be appropriate to block him just like that, right? There's nothing between us, anyway. Also, aren't you being hypocritical? You've got Idania saved in your contacts too. Why didn't you block her?”
Tobias raised his voice, now sounding slightly angry. “Skylar, listen up! Just because I haven't interrogated you about those nonsensical scandals doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want. Even though you know that Marcus has impure intentions toward you, why are you still throwing yourself at him? You're not young anymore, so you don't need me to teach you everything. Are you unable to handle your relationships with men properly? I don't want to say these words again. If you understand, good. If you don't, let's stop being together.”
Skylar met Tobias' gaze, which was chillingly fierce. An aggrieved feeling surfaced within her.
Why is Tobias interrogating me so sternly even though I didn't do anything wrong? Does he want to break up? Why didn't he practice what he preached before demanding the same thing from me? Everyone in the company is talking about how biased he is to Saorise.
She rarely confronted Tobias about those rumors and instead chose to believe in him steadfastly. Yet, this was how he returned her favor.
