Chapter 102
Estelle nodded, “I moved out a month ago.”
Jason nonchalantly nodded, “That’s good, living on the mountain all the time would eventually turn anyone into a loner.”
Estelle raised an eyebrow, and didn’t reply.
They chatted for a while before Jason asked, “Do you know why your master wants to see you?”
“I don’t know, why?” Estelle asked.
Jason said, “The art exhibition at the gallery starts tomorrow, and the person in charge invited master to have a final look. He wants to take you with him.”
Estelle frowned, “I haven’t picked up a brush in a long time. I’m definitely gonna get scolded by master today.”
Jason grinned, “That’s why I’m going with you.”
Estelle heaved a sigh of relief and smiled, “Thanks, man.”
An hour later, after parking the car at their destination, Jason and Estelle walked side by side into the courtyard, where they heard the old man’s booming voice instructing, “Put more sugar in the coffee, that girl loves her sweets.”
Jason grinned, “He still loves you the most.”
Estelle’s eyes were filled with delight as she walked through the shaded path and called out, “Mr. Quintin, I’m here!”
In a blink of an eye, an old man appeared at the doorway, wearing a dark blue cotton shirt, looking vigorous. Seeing Estelle, he first smiled, then quickly tightened his face and harrumphed, “I thought you had forgotten where this place was!”
Estelle replied with a serious tone, “I was afraid I’d forget, so I purposely asked my senior brother to bring me here.”
Old Mr. Quintin widened his eyes, “You say that again.”
Estelle burst into laughter.
A smile appeared on Jason’s usually cold face as well.
Estelle grabbed Old Mr. Quintin’s arm and walked into the house. The servant had already prepared the meal and promptly set the table when they saw Estelle.
Old Mr. Quintin had spent his life devoted to painting and had a cheerful personality. He was best friends with Estelle’s grandfather. It was because of her grandfather that Estelle became a student of Old Mr. Quintin and met Jason later on.
Estelle’s teacher’s wife passed away three years ago, and he has a daughter who’s been abroad for the past two years. So Old Mr. Quintin had been living alone these years.
However, his students would visit him regularly, and with frequent visitors, he also kept quite busy.
Over lunch, Old Mr. Quintin mentioned the art exhibition, and the organizer would pick them up at three in the afternoon.
He also asked about Estelle’s recent life.
Except for the matter of Jonathan, Estelle was honest about everything else.
“Summer break is almost here, are you coming to the studio?” Jason asked.
Estelle thought for a moment, “I might, but I have other plans too.”
“What plans?” Jason inquired.
