Chapter 1077

Bennett said with a sigh, “I saw you getting bashed online a few days ago, your mom and I were all worried sick. You’re okay, right?”

Estelle snorted coldly. When she was under attack online, none of the Macclain family cared about her, except for Sallie and her brother. They only called to check on her after everything had calmed down.

What was the point of pretending to care?

“Is there something you want?” Estelle’s tone became more and more indifferent.

Bennett could sense the distance between Estelle and him. He sighed, “It’s good to know you’re okay. Your grandparents are also worried about you. They hope you can come home when you have time. Everyone misses you!”

“I got it.” Estelle replied.

“Take care of yourself out there!”

“Mm.”

Estelle hung up the phone directly and put it aside with a normal expression. She wouldn’t be moved by anything the Macclain family did.

On the other end, Bennett looked at his phone and sighed again.

“What’s wrong?” Simone asked while bringing over a plate of fruit salad.

Bennett said, “Dad called me today, asking about Estelle and Mr. Lamont’s relationship, and hoping she could come home. I just called her, but she wasn’t very friendly.”

Simone raised an eyebrow, snorting, “Your parents really know how to seize opportunities. As soon as they saw the photos of Estelle and Jonathan circulating online, they immediately wanted to leverage the power of the Lamonts.”

Bennett said, “The stuff online really did wrong Estelle. It was all Gwen’s doing.

Realizing she couldn’t hide it anymore, Carmella told Simone that her designs, had been eliminated before they had a chance to be showcased.

Simone was very disappointed and urgently asked, “What about the money we invested?”

Carmella looked extremely embarrassed and didn’t say a word. Obviously, that money was gone for good.

Simone, disappointed and angry, blurted out, “Carmella, do you know how much your dad and I invested in your studio? You said we’d see a return within a year, but it’s been three years and we’re still pouring money in. Do you even have what it takes?”

Carmella’s face turned red, then pale. She explained, “It’s not that our designs aren’t good, it’s that we didn’t give the judges enough money. I know a design team that spent tens of millions and then got the chance to be on the runway.”

Simone was surprised, “What do you mean? Instead of admitting your lack of ability, you blame us for not giving enough bribes?”

Carmella’s face became even more embarrassed. Her downturned eyes flashed with resentment as she bit her lip and said nothing.
