Ryan gave Henson a once-over, his smirk growing as he realized they were newbies.
The coach came over to show them how to handle the guns and explain the game rules.
Ryan waved him off, "We've been here loads of times, no need for the spiel. Go talk to them."
Ryan's crew burst into mocking laughter again, looking totally chill, seemingly not worried about the upcoming game. They were evidently full of confidence.
The coach moved on to explain the rules to Estelle and her group, with Estelle and Henson hanging on his every word.
Once the rules were covered, the coach double-checked if Jonathan's team only had three members.
Upon getting a positive response from Jonathan, the coach suggested they recruit two more players since they were already at a disadvantage numbers-wise.
"Nah, we're good with just the three of us," Jonathan answered nonchalantly.
The coach frowned but didn't push it.
The teams were split into red and blue, with Estelle's group being the blue team.
After teams were assigned, everyone checked their gear then entered the jungle from their respective entrances.
Jonathan raised his hand towards Estelle, "Here's to fighting side by side again!"
Estelle glanced at his hand and snorted, continuing to walk ahead.
Jonathan followed, shaking his head, "You're as fiery as ever."
Listening to their banter, Henson couldn't help but interject, "Could you guys take this seriously? Show some respect. I'm here to win."
Jonathan chuckled, "You'll see!"
Estelle suddenly halted, listened for a moment, then turned to Jonathan, "I'll draw their attention, you help Henson."
When the coach announced the end of the game, the red team members were flustered and bewildered.
In contrast, Estelle's group looked cool as cucumbers, not at all like they just participated in a battle.
Henson was ecstatic. His shooting wasn't perfect, but he had hit the mark nine times out of ten and, most importantly, he had decisively defeated the opponent!
The coach inspected their airguns, then smiled at Estelle and Jonathan, "Not bad, you guys know your stuff!"
A girl from the other team sneered at them, "If you're experienced, why did you pretend to be newbies? Feeling proud of winning?"
Estelle looked at her indifferently, and replied icily, "Whoever said the loser has to kneel? Forget kneeling, just call me 'granny'."
The girl turned pale with anger. She took out her phone and dialed, her voice whiny and aggrieved, "Baby, I was bullied playing a shooting game with Ryan and his friends, come with back up! Okay, I'm waiting for you. Remember to bring more people!"
Jonathan turned to Estelle and whispered, "If you were bullied outside, would you call me?"
