Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 1314

Chapter 1314

Magdalene paused for a beat, turned around, and walked into the room. She plopped down on the couch and stared at Jonathan with a stern face. "Spill, how on earth did you manage to worm your way back into Ella's life while I was away?"

Jonathan sat across the room, his voice steady and nonchalant.

"She's my wife, wasn't she?"

Magdalene scoffed, "Didn't you want to divorce her? Weren't you fed up?"

Jonathan defended, "That was a misunderstanding!"

"No, it wasn't. You just didn't trust Ella!" she countered.

Jonathan's eyes were intense. "That won't happen again!"

Magdalene scoffed again. "Really? If another woman shows up one day and tells you that Ella has ulterior motives, will you abandon her again?"

Jonathan held his gaze and said, "No!"

"Men's words are not to be trusted; only a fool like Ella would believe them!" Magdalene retorted angrily.

She turned her head to Estelle, her face still filled with rage. "What did you promise me? You said you wouldn't get back with Jonathan or love him again. He sweet-talks you a bit, and you just melt?"

Jonathan's face darkened, and he spoke softly, "I know you've been there for Ella these past two years, and it's not fair to her. Go ahead and take your anger out on me; don't take it out on Ella!"

And she was also prepared to face her anger!

Jonathan, however, was reluctant to leave. "It's okay, Ms. Sampson can scold me all she wants; I'll listen!"

"Listen to me!" Estelle said sternly, "Only when she and I have talked it out can she resolve her doubts. Don't worry, she won't do anything to me!"

Jonathan looked deep into her eyes and slowly nodded, saying, "I'll be in the next room if you need me."

"Okay!" Estelle nodded.
